It launched with just hdr10 support and then later added Dolby Vision hdr to it. I'm not aware of any thing being taken away. My copy is up to date and it supports both.

I've played the Rift, the Vive, and the PSVR. I haven't tried the mixed reality yet. I'll start with PSVR because its the one I bought first. Only because of its price and I already had a console. The PSVR is a great piece of tech for the cost involved. Its the only place to play RE7 in vr, which I feel is the best vr game to date. Because dumb ass disney gave EA the exclusive contract for Star Wars games. Obviously EA is more concerned about screwing people out of money with loot boxes than they are delivering a quality Star Wars experience that would sell on its own merits.
I would like to see one of them step off the SoC bus and make a console with a discrete gpu and memory. I'm sure somebody would argue cost, but they could actually do more with less with this type of set-up. They could use last gen tech (like a fx 8370 with a r290x) with 4gb system/8gb video and surpass the xbox and ps4 easily.
