I don't believe that's it at all..I think Valve just works on what they are interested in at the time. Their success with steam has allowed them to do what they want, when they want. I've not played a bad valve game, even though they have been sparse. I don't think it would be any different for HL3. Valve just makes great games, that's why they still have a huge fan base after all these years.
How I see it is, Sony themselves said the Pro was a mid cycle refresh. PS4 launched in 2013, Pro launched in 2016. If they mark half as being 3yrs, logic says 2019. I also believe that the PS5 will be treated as a sort of refresh in the sense that all games coming out will play on both the ps4 pro and the ps5. Obviously they would look and preform better on the new console. That would be a two headed sales pitch. You could upgrade to the less expensive pro and still play the latest PS games...

There is nothing to be done. It's a free market. It only exists because somebody wants it and will pay that for it. Until people stop buying it, it will never go away. It's not like a giant company would say no to millions of dollars based on moral grounds. The whole practice is a cancer on gaming. Fortunately we know the cure, complete non participation.
Yeah I own it too on pc, I think I gave maybe $2 for it. I've seen nothing in any of these remaster screens n videos thats any better than the 4k60fps that already exists in my $2 copy. I agree too that it should have been burnout revenge that got the remaster. The open worldness of paradise really didn't sit well with me for a burnout game, based upon the previous 4 entries. But I would be more than happy if I could just play revenge on my pc.
Does it matter if you see the point to it or not? How can you fly anybody shit about the way they enjoy their games. I use cheat engine all the time. Really the only thing I would like to see change is the stiffness of the control sticks springs. A little more resistance against the sticks I think would give the smoothness a boost. Outside of that, MS needs better support for its win10 app to adjust mapping. MS does not have a good relationship with the pc gaming world. I think if a deal like this were to happen, there would be a backlash like we have yet to see.
