Just my opinion, but playing the original redone like what we have seen of 2, with the over the shoulder view and all, would be a completely different experience than the other remake. I actually would love them to redo the first one and make it play like 7, vr and all. It must come multi plat in vr though. There's still no love for the vive from capcom and that's a shame. RE7 on psvr is still to this day the best vr game out there.

Until they can shut down torrent sharing, they aren't stopping jack shit. You can get every emulator and rom Emuparadise had through torrents. So long as one person has it and is willing to share, ROM preservation is not going anywhere. Besides, this is only one site, others will fill the void in time.
