Campers camp because they get away with NOT being seen. They hide in corners, behind trees, under bodies, and they stay still... hidden...
A big metal slab & a blinking blue shock/emp-sensor grenade, and your red dot blaring on the map does not scream CAMPER! You are digging into a position to hold the line!
I just went back to the video released last week, and the first guy that is taken out by the millimeter sight is moving & is picked up... It looks like he might have been ADS and moving a little slower, but he was still on the move. The 2nd guy was stationary in the smoke.
I'm interested to see how all the new equipment & perks flesh out!
It would be appreciated!
@lastofgen OK, how about Gamsters? Kind of a cross between Gamer & Hipster. What about bullies? Maybe... Goats! Yeah, goats! People that buy CoD are sheep, right? Goats are the Anti-sheep.
I'm sick of the name slinging, I'm sick of the 1/2 baked arguments and complaints. If you're genuinely tired of the game, especially @Flat, then that's 100% fine. But you're better off expending your energy on stuff you like than arguing with people about stuff you d...
Me too, if it wasn't so sub-par on the 360 and I had a good PC rig!
Every time I see these trailers I think "Daaaaamn!" But then I realize that "The Biggest Battlefield 3 Map Evah!!!!" with 24 players would be rephrased as "The Boringest Battlefield 3 Map Evah!!!"
64 players, 1080p & 60 FPS+ for the win.
Have fun, PC-gamers!
The system is being designed to straight up combat what you do... camping. Even the Millimeter Sight does the same thing... if you sit in one spot, you can be seen.
Time to put the pup-tent away, everyone!

It is a good job, and a good counter to the 1-a-year cycle.
However.
People keep saying each yearly release of CoD is MW 2.5, BlOps 1.5, etc. "Just new maps, glorified DLC, etc".
Thats all this is, right? All for the same price of a new game.
Can someone PLEASE enlighten me why this is a good idea vs. a brand new game every year? I can certainly see why it would make good business sense (smaller dev team working on maps, et...
You don't work with software developers, do you. I do, very closely, in an industry that is changing faster than our guys can push new software out. Even minor tweeks take a lot of time.
It is VERY difficult to create anything new from the ground up, that is why most so many games run on iD/Quake tech a la John Carmack... its fast, stable, its modular, and it can be adjusted and improved, like what IW/Trey have been doing with their 2 year cycles.
Hell, I...
Not sure why you got the disagree...
Renting has swayed my decision on a number of games that I would have either never taken a $60 risk on (DARK SOULS!), or games where I had a pre-order down but bailed at the last minute because it was just SO BAD (*cough* BRINK).
Good luck!
Sorry, the engine argument is getting old.
To create a brand new engine from the ground up that will output 60 FPS (which is an absolute requirement) this late in the console generation is not a good business decision. Smart money would develop for the better hardware which will be coming out soon.
I love what DICE did with Frostbite 2, but their market of choice is the PC crowd that can output 60 FPS & 1080p. The console versions of BF3 were "dumme...
PC specs were locked in the second they decided to develop the game for the PS3 & 360 and NOT the PC a few years ago.
Fast forward after YEARS of development specifically for consoles, and PC gamers now want the game... publishers decide to listen to "fans" and make the decision to "port" it over...
NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
Not a very good analogy.
What you SHOULD say is:
"You walk into McDonalds and order a cheeseburger. When you get the cheeseburger, you get a few extra pickles for the same price as the person in front of you... but that isn't good enough. You throw a shit-fit when it isn't far better than the person who bought one ahead of you.
'Where is my extra cheese?!?! Where is the extra beef patty?!?!?!'
People arou...
The problem comparing Sleeping Dogs to Dark Souls is that Sleeping Dogs was developed with the PC in mind. Dark Souls, and Demon's Souls for that matter, were designed for CONSOLES, with their inherent strengths and limitations in mind.
A TRUE PC version would have required architecture planning from the start, which would have involved capturing animations at higher FPS & using Hi-res textures and bringing them down to console level. This obviously didn't happen...
Here is where I disagree entirely.
They made a game and an engine to work exclusively with the the PS3/360. They built it with their strengths and weaknesses in mind. So they essentially created a world were the settings were 720p & 30 FPS (*cough* most of the time...).
Do you honestly think that their animators PLANNED for a PC release? If you are a digital animator, and you are working on a game where you output 30 FPS... what do you think they're...
Forget my last bubble for discussion with anyone. I watched the trailer again and my mind was blown at the end, which was the beginning but with the commentary/play-by-play (the ability to watch live matches will be pretty cool in itself)
Look at the top. 3 scores.
Win. Pure win.
I'm only spying 6 red dots, so 3 vs 3 vs 3?
Oh I'm always up for disagreement, especially when a good discussion is the result! I'm always willing to try to see others' point of view.
My edit was in response to a number of stealth disagrees, and towards the people that get nothing but sheer joy on hating the game & series. Its a F2P game all in itself that Activision should try to capitalize on!
In before the hate!
Gameplay looks great, can't wait to see all the customization that we can do, from guns to emblems... Select Fire mode? Finally...
(Edit)
Yeah! The Disagree train has pulled into the station!
This reveal is going to make EVERY HATERS DAY!
Grow up, move on to what you like.

Why would they "give a fuck" when they make billions of dollars?
If you watched the livestream at all, NONE of the maps shown are remotely similar to anything in BlOps1. The only one that will be is free.
Honestly, what are you expecting from a FPS??? How can it possibly change? All FPS play the same. You have a gun, you aim, you shoot.
What will make the franchise better? I hear bitching and moaning about CoD, but nobody has any ACTUAL ideas on how to improve it!
