Always love a worthwhile post, especially one that dismantles (word for word) this amuteurs lame attempts to somehow tell us the Wii's success is not a success at all.

Definitely enjoy reading your posts.

Not sure I can agree with you, and I was really trying to see the logic in what you were saying but, I just couldn't also that link you provided..very lame. Though there is one thing I can agree with you on and thats when you said defining "hardcore" is pretty much pointless.

@Mahr: About time you showed up, glad you bought up the weakness in the link Balance provided. I was waiting for someone to do it because I only had one bubble left lol.

@Balance: ...

If I were a company, I'd much rather be making $$ out the gate, than to gamble with the "possibilities." Epic makes $$ off their engines more than anything else. I'm failing to see the "fanboy" in the comment you quoted. In fact there is alot of info to back up that claim. So I guess "hardcore" now means the amount of time spent playing a game?

While 6$ x 38 Million consoles is still a hell of alot of money, definitely alot more than the HD twins are making, 40$ for every Wii sold seems a bit more reasonable, and also makes more sense in how Nintendo is able to make Billion $ quarters.

Excellent post, I agree wholeheartedly. Also I don't mind the long posts as long as they are saying something worth while. Only thing is, I thought devs thought the ps2 was the trickiest to develop for and Cube was the easiest. Xbox was basically a pc makeup (I thought, I could be wrong) But the heart of your post, is the most important aspect: Can updated graphics really be the answer? Can the niche market of "hardcore" gamers (i hate that word)sustain this industry? What is actual...

Thanks for clearing this up, here I was thinking they were winning world wide, year in and year out..glad to know I was imagining things.

Was also sold at a profit, Nintendo is an excellent business model to follow.

Also it never fails, Wii news, first post a Wii hater.

You continue to outdo yourself, and its even more clear to me that your def in the top 3 no question. Congratulations! But honestly telling me to calm down? I've never been the kind of poster who has saliva pouring out the mouth or breaking out in hives to respond to the good posts or bad ones, I'm naturally a laid back guy, in fact its just videogames after all it isn't life or death. I don't need to "convince" you to like the Wii, but you do seem to be trying to convince yourself ...

Probably, the top 5 or 3 most ridiculous posts I've ever read on this site.

Did you expect anything less at this point? All year They've been dominiating, it was only going to be furthered during the holidays.

This guy single handedly proves an idea I had early on. I asked a question on another post a while back "what would Wii haters complain about after the AAA third party support came for Wii?" I believe it was VoiceofReason, who basically answered the question with a very matter of fact response. That response was pretty much verbatim of what Baum said. I guess some fanboys are really holding on tight, grasping at straws, moving goal posts, whatever it takes not to accept the fact tha...

Keep ignoring the market leader. If it weren't for the Psp and especially the DS their losses would probably be even worse; much worse. First they d!ck PS3 owners, then they ignore the Wii, they give 360 timed exclusive after exclusive titles (which should probably be multiplat ps3, just like ffxiii, which I don't think will be worth the wait). They need to get their act together very soon otherwise...

Damn right man. That is an excellent point. We all take 3-d games for granted, but Mario 64 introduced so many aspects to 3d gaming, so much so we take it for granted. Top 5 or even 3 innovative games ever created.

Majority of votes musta been from younger gamers.

Why people are so surprised. Third parties came in droves to the DS in its third year on the market. The Wii is trending identically to the DS. Also with the economy in the dumps right now, HD costs are extremely risky, so much so that even games slated for both ps3/360 are being scrapped. One game that waws supposed to be on the ps3 has been scrapped for a 360 version only. Ppl can say what they will about games being recession proof, but that's not entirely true. Many analysts are stating t...

Is how many great Mario games there have been through the years. No ones list is going to be the same, and that's a testament to the quality Mario games (main ones) have.

For me I liked 3, but I had mroe fun playing world, super mario all-stars was great, the transition to 3-d changed many things, and I sometimes feel I have to seperate the best mario games by their dimension, like best 2-d mario is vs best 3-d Mario is

I also put myself back into the moment of w...

Gonna keep my eyes on this one. One of the thing that's great about Nintendo is they just have a plethora of established IP's to choose from. I'd love a new pilot wings, the 64 version was awesome. The racing game I 'd like most to make a return though is Wave Race, though that doesn't seem to likely due to WS:resort, but a guy can dream can't he? F-zero is a good guess. we'll just have to wait and see.

I did read it (lol) and again, we just seem to have a fundemental difference at least in how we view the importance of graphics. For me as great of graphics RE4 had for the cube, what made it a great game for me, was the other things the game got right, cheifly the gameplay. The over the shoulder perspective was dope, and it was a fresh take on an aging franchise.

Killzone 1 was really...well, wack. Honestly, I can careless about games receiving "phenomenal reviews" b...

You never hear about the Wii because its destroying the competition. And when you see the amount of sales its winning by, it makes the bickering and b!tching from sony and m$ fans seem silly when they discuss differences of 40k or 100k units. Ppl need to stop being delusional, DS is winning the handheld market, hell, it is DESTROYING the psp inj the handheld market. Wii is damn near at 50% market share of the console market, what more does it take to constitute "winning"?
