Lame article claiming how they once "loved Nintendo, BUT now with the Wii wahhhhhh" like a bunch of whiny goobers. Meanwhile these ppl claiming they loved Nintendo so much didn't buy an N64 or Gamecube and probably switched sides during the SNES vs Genesis era. These same folks also had no intention of buying a Wii,, but are just so perplexed as to how this system called Wii is destroying the competition. So the next thing they do is belittle its audience one of my favorite lines be...
I see my attempt at sarcasm went over some folks' heads. I was actually meaning that both games were NOT flops, and just pointing out how fanboys like to use those games to prove some falsehood about Wii not selling 3rd party software. Sarcasm is not easy to convey in words I guess.
This is the second "flop" to garner a sequel, No more Heroes the first. But seriously both those games were very good and this proves both made a nice profit for their respective companies. Wii sells third party software? who knew.
Prime 3 wasn't my first metroid, not by a long shot. It wasn't even my first Prime game. I agree with product actually, except I don't think Prime 3 was so much easier as linear than the other prime games. And for me personally I enjoyed Prime 3 more. I have a hard time saying which was definitively better between Prime 1 and 3 but both were better than 2, which is pretty much the odd one out.
But the first metroid I played was the nes one. Super Metroid to me is still one of t...
I always wonder what the haters will say when the strong third party support for Wii arrives? The thing that many of these ignorant fools don't realize is the reasons they say they hate the Wii or Nintendo more specifically, could be applied directly to their favored companies as well. An example? "rehashes and sequels" yet the biggest games for both the 360 and PS3 are sequels, the reasoning and spinning and web weaving gets tiresome. Oh and Prime 3 for me was probably the best sin...
Two weeks of fair sales offsets the 2 yrs of sluggish ones?
That's such a subjective term, I'm not sure I can even respond without a subjective response..So I won't. But you do prove my point about 3rd parties not expecting the Wii to take off and dominate like it has. No one did, so to expect anything other than ports and cash-ins at this point in its lifetime is unreasonable. Again look at the DS, up against the PsP no one thought the DS had a chance INCLUDING third party devs. After two years of largely Nintendo first party games and cash ins, thir...
Captain Sony was in the right, in terms of his argument. Pixel was talking out of his a$$ about devs abandoning the Wii..if anything they'd abandon the last place platform. I don't get why people can't comprehend that the Wii is a phenom that no one in the industry expected to be the market leader. Same thing happened during the NES era, and more recently the DS era. With such economic hard times, and third parties betting heavily on the "wrong horse(s)" you can't expect these devs ...
On News concerning particular fans or people interested in Wii news, the first ones to comment are fanboys apparently just here to say something negative about the Wii. Why bother coming here, I know I don't frequent 360 or PS3 news just to say something nonsensical. I guess because I'm just not interested in their products. Which goes back to Sidars question.."Why are you here?"
First Wii sports isn't counted in the NPD, Second at a year head start 360 is only up by 20 million? 20 million is nothing considering the fact the Wii doesn't get the third party support the HD consoles are getting atm. And Traveler, your statement is untrue, 360 doesn't sell more software than Wii, this month is the first month in many that the 360 has sold more software than the Wii but that's primarily due to the fact that Gears was released. 2 Million in what 2 days? that's great. I neve...
I thought Wii doesn't sell software (lol) Nobody thought that Mario Kart stood a chance against GTA4 during the launch in April, now its sold more copies than the PS360 versions almost combined, thats incredible. Brawl was/is definitely a sales beast. I don't think any logical analyst thought that it wouldn't be high on the best seller's end of year list. I guess another myth about Wii not selling software has been debunked..for the upteenth time, that is.
Wii sales are in the stratusphere and have been unprecedented. Didn't it just destroy the October sales record set by the PS2 by at least 300k? Of course 360 would have more software, it released a year before both competitors. This will of course have an impact on software sales. Whats crazy is that the Wii is so few units behind the 360 after the yr head start and half-assed third party support. Also, contrary to fanboy statements, PS3 is NOT as dire as they would have you believe (For the ...
Zero Suit Samus ;)
The marketleader is always the best bet..
Sidar & Product, I love it, you guys always take care of the wacky posts before I can. Mahr also. I was waiting for someone to bring up the weak car analogy. Also with the PS2 it took basically its late 2nd year on before it got the games its been known for. Ppl expect the Wii to do this in half the time? why because its selling twice as fast? Like I said, third parties expected the PS2 to be the market leader. What the Wii and Nintendo has done is unprecedented, in that they went from la...
How could this be? I thought third party games don't sell on Wii..I guess now fanboys will start the disecting and dicing up the kind of games Wii sells and doesn't sell. Note to fanboys: PLEASE DON'T BOTHER!
I love reading these ridiculous comments about how Wii is killing "hardcore gaming" whatever the hell that means. What is "hardcore gaming" mean anyway? Do we have any takers on who wants to tackle that question? I've read the same old tired BS, the same tired and untrue fanboy talking points "mini games, soccermoms, nursing homes" etc. Since when has being the mainstream console been a bad thing? all of the market leaders have been the mainstream console. The on...
Is simply remarkable for a console to sell like this. I'm glad too because otherwise our industry wouldn't be thriving as well as it is at the moment. Also I love the comments that attempt to insult Wii owners, it makes them all look like immature punks who are jealous that their console of choice is getting its ass handed to them by the Wii. Gotta love it.
Is destroying the competition because they learned that catering exclusively to a pigeonholed demographic limits your growth potential. I don't get the b!tching, moaning, and complaining from fanboys and their anger and such at the Wii. I'd rather they ignore it than attempt to belittle the system or its users.
Like I've said take away Wii's contribution and where does that leave our industry? the industry that the so called hard core love so much? the so called hardcore love ...
But I wouldn't get into a "hardcore debate" no way partially because I don't believe in the word or in defining a video game experience to me its all relative. One thing though, for me the fundemental basis for a great game is the gameplay. That is why SNES games N64 games few PS1 games like Super Metroid, OoT, MGS1 remain as some of the greatest games ever, graphics are obsolete almost immediately, and while they can and do enhance the experience on some level, it is not the most c...
