F5 was a good company. This is scary though, and what this illustrates is the broken business model that HD development has adopted. Many smaller devs are one HD flop away from going belly up. With most of you guys in here. I think MKWii is the best console iteration since the 64, I wasn't feeling double dash at all. Graphics has become the crutch of alot of game developers. Our industry has become to reliant on graphics, the HD consoles are imitating pc's and are doing a bad job of it.

The market leader always has the longest life span, tech has nothing to do with it. Wii is breaking records monthly, if that's being in trouble than Wii must be asking for it.

LoL. I would definitely agree with what you are insinuating, but the RE4 situation is different in a few ways. For one the game was scheduled to be a PS3 game and was moved for financial reasons, and two the Wii is the market leader. I don't believe, had RE4 been made for the PS2 exclusively, that it would have been ported to the GC later..But on the flip side Capcom has eventually ported RE4 to every system known to man at this point, so who knows.
Now we have a new definition of flop, I thought flop was something like haze or banjo, because of lackluster sales. I guess compared to other Wii hits 1 million does seem quite low, but damn if Wii music isn't a million seller.

Sony is no where NEAR Nintendo anywhere in the world and is now trailing 360 for the year, that's just in Hardware alone. Software wise its even worse for sony. Have you seen the software numbers in Japan for dec. 8-the 14? There is nothing in the top 10/11 that doesn't have the name Wii or DS on it.

They will make the Wii the lead platform is the very reason you mentioned ice. PROFIT. Isn't it strange that revenue for the HD software is up, but profits aren't? Companies are bleeding money, imagine making a hit game, sell millions of copies, and barely break even, or not break even at all. That is what is happening, from a business perspective and common sense one at this point, Wii makes the most sense.

I can give anectdotal evidence also, but one or two personal experiences don't mirror what goes on at large. Sales numbers are the only way to measure success.
