It is a good console, I am pretty sure that it has at least recently been providing some profit for M$'s game division (though its probably just now starting to eat away at the debt their gaming division aquired) But more so than anything, what makes it a success isn't its 8 million or so console lead on Sony, that really is irrelavent. The fact that it has outsold its predecessor quite handily shows progress and progress is always a sign of success.

Spike, you can't be serious with that comment. The only way Sony managed to sell as many PS2's as they did was due to its, how do you say..."casual appeal".
About this game. It sounds very much like a "gamers game". We'll see how it turns out, but I'm very optimistic about it.

Wii destroys the competition, and now its being relegated as being in a "different market" Also there are no 'next gen' consoles anymore that ended the moment the 360 was released. They are all current gen. Just accept the fact that Wii is the runaway success this gen.

With all due respect, your post makes absolutely 0 sense at all. And the way you describe Wii controls leads me to believe you have never actually played the Wii. Which would further lead me to the conclusion that your post is really just a neg on the game and the system. Though I will give you credit for trying to be somewhat...objective. I'd just have to disagree with about 99.9% of what you wrote though. the .1% being that the Wii could not produce a game graphically on par with the top HD...

The game is looking absolutely gorgeous, hopefully this is a trend with futre Wii games as well. If devs actually utilize whats under Wii's hood, games should look very nice, and more importantly play nice.
It is so amusing reading the PS3 and 360 fans bickering over sales, when Wii dwarfs both of them combined! And in Japan, several times more combined. Japan is now Nintendo land, FFXIII is not going to change that, MH3 is going to confirm this, and DQX is only going to cement this even further.

Wii is damned either way by fanboys it seems. But honestly the game would lose its feeling being played with a standard controller. Like Suda said, its just a better fit for the Wii.

I would just outright blame the PS3 for FR and F5's recently going belly up. The same thing could have just as easily have happened to them had they chose the 360 as their main system. The HD dev model is broken, when you have to sell over a million just to break even..that is a problem.
