@Foxtrot
So, because you don't mind being abused online, everyone else should put up with it...

@Baka-akaB
I assume your comment was related to mine.
I'll reiterate for clarity, until Gamergate produces real, verifiable, convincing evidence to the contrary why should observers believe it's anything but a hate campaign thinly disguised as about ethics in games journalism. Especially, when after 2 months its focus still on people who aren'...

There's starting to become a pattern though isn't there;
1. woman in gaming speaks out
2. gets details leaked/threatened
3. Gamergate pleads 'it's not us, whoever we are, because we're just here for ethics, just ethics, nothing else, and anyway she's probably just a 'professional provocateur' so it was probably bound to happen, but it's not us, honest...'

At some point you have to ask yourself what has Gamergate ...

Well, considering none of the accusations aimed at Phil Fish were actually concerned with his ability to make games, I'd suggest B.
Someone might argue he needs either PR training or someone to sort that for him, but he's proven he can make games people like.
I wonder if someone like Itagaki or Kamiya would also receive such a glowing tribute for being similarly offish with gamers or is this rant inspired by his stance on a certain topic.

I especially ...

I spent about 20 minutes drafting one or two replies to various comments, but I doubt they'd do much good.
So instead I'll just leave this here, and don't get too depressed that this Harry Enfield sketch is nearly 20 years old and still pertinent, things are getting better in terms of sexual equality whether the knuckledraggers want it to or not.

At the end of the day, people have to take some personal responsibility about their purchases. If you think you might like a game that a reviewer doesn't, then find out what they fault the game for - if that's not a concern to you then fine.
Similarly, the other way round. Just because critics praise a game to high heaven, it doesn't follow that everyone has to like it. e.g. Music mags could claim the next Bieber album is awesome, but I highly doubt I'd buy it. Neither...

Exactly, and if a group claims that is their goal but refutes such reporting out of hand, sight unseen, because it disagrees with there world view then that sort of implies there's a fundamental problem.

She's a producer not a developer.
A lot of things you're criticising her for would either be out of her control or she'd only have limited influence on.

Sorry, I disagreed with your comment by accident (and I agree with your sentiment).

I'll sum it up for you then;
If you're aim is to suppress any media which disagrees with you then you aren't going to create a media which is ethical by nature.

If everyone's muting people because they either don't like them or can't be bothered to wade through the people wanting to be asshats then how is it going to improve.
Devs could improve the situation to a degree, but ultimately it's down to gamers to show each other a modicum of respect, regardless of there gender, race, ethnicity, age, ability, etc, etc.

One thing I do think devs could do to improve the situation is to include modes, and label them as...

The university didn't cancel the talk but they did feel the need to contact both state and federal experts first. I'd suggest that would mean they thought the threat was manageable rather than non-existent.

And it's an article, not an interview. The amount of times AS mentions GG is down to how many times the author feels like writing it (twice in this case).

Is the BBC a big enough mainstream news outlet, or maybe you could visit The Guardian, Metro, Daily mail or other national newspapers which are/have also covered the threats.

"Because that's what *I'M* spending my money on."
Maybe other people are looking to reviews for other things. Just because it doesn't influence your buying decisions, doesn't mean its not of interest to someone else.

Surely a review score is based on the overall impression the reviewer has of a game. If there's something substantial about a games content that you feel makes it a poorer game then the score should reflect that.
As long as you state why, then what's the problem ?
If you don't like one particular reviewers opinion then look for others. It's hardly like there's a lack of them.

Wouldn't the opposite (i.e. a reviewer giving a game a better...

How about let the game come out before casting aspersions on the devs choices ?
What if 'taking full advantage of the PS4' would mean it missing the release date ? The AC games are already on a quick dev cycle to get them out yearly, what if Ubisoft saying from the outset 'we're going to lock them both at this' was to ensure they had the time to get the rest of the game done on time ?
Or what if trying to improve one version led to other complications that ...
