"How many other gaming rigs do you see with a split memory architecture??"
EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM. E-V-E-R-Y single one. It's the reason why you purchase CPU RAM, and purchase a 128, 256, 512, or higher GPU. Those three numbers I listed are RAM friend...so every PC is made with split RAM architecture, it manages bandwidth better.
I won't argue that Newell is brilliant at what he does, that's foolish. The fact is, this about the equivalent of asking an a...
the small price cut was obviously a deal breaker for several thousand folks out there. Once the 60s are gone...Sony would be foolish to keep the 80 GB at 600. We all know they've cut production costs somewhat, and honestly, it wouldn't be a bad idea to suffer a bit during holidays to increase that install base some. I still think they can net another 2 million by the end of the year, but the $500 price point sure helps.
All of the top immortals for the month, quarter, or the server, or SOMETHING could be "drawn to the gathering", battle it out, and the winner gets to choose what they want for "the prize".
As Sony needs to establish some more mascots for the PS brand. PSOne had Spyro, Crash, Twisted Metal, PS2 had Jak, Ratchet, and Kratos.
I could see Drake, Nariko, and maybe Sev rounding out the big three for this generation, but who knows, maybe Sackboy from LBP. Whatever the case, established franchises are a must for every console, and Heavenly Sword looks like it could fit in beautifully.
I'll probably get mine this February, when Mass Effect and Bioshock will be waiting in the wings. :D
but I've always thought that a Highlander MMO would be a good idea. It would probably be better suited for consoles though, because it would obviously be more twitchy and action oriented than traditional MMO's.
Anyway, good to know that some kind of Highlander game is coming out.
This game looks pretty good. I have to say I'm pleased with all of the action titles we've been getting as of late. This, Heavenly Sword, and Ninja Gaiden...the "Heavenly" trinity, so to speak.
They're forgetting one very important thing, and that is influence. If the PS2 is currently continuing to deliver a satisfying gaming experience to all of the new customers, it establishes something in the back of one's mind.
If I'm still having this much fun with this old console, by the time I'm done with it, I might as well get the next iteration, because I'm bound to see some of my favorite franchises return. Backward compatibility is a good incentive for repeat PS owners, ...
will be the top dog by the end of the year. It's gonna be a hot commodity this Christmas(as if it isn't already), and I wouldn't be surprised to see the user base in the neighborhood of 14-16 million by the years end. Amazing how the momentum has not stopped or reached it's peak just yet. We're all saying how well the PS3 and 360 will do after price drops...imagine what happens when this thing hits $175.00.
One word: Pandemonium.
My hats off to Nintendo. If I cou...
related to Home? I'd love to be able to pick up my furniture and prizes and do whatever I want with them. The should have a boxing arena in the lobbies! If the PSEye can detect 3D motion, you could accurately sway and avoid punches. Moving around would probably be a bear though...
Oh well, chucking my trophies at innocent bystanders from my balcony ftw. :)
having no effect on my stance. I was actually pretty happy when I heard this got postponed indefinitely...guess it finally came to fruition.
Yet there are still those that feel that 512 MB of RAM isn't enough. I beg to differ. If Quake 4 showed up on XBox last generation, the future is bright. If Shadow of the Colossus showed up on PS2 last year, the future is bright.
We've got games like Gears that came out a year ago, Mass Effect on the horizon and others like Killzone and Metal Gear Solid. The future looks very bright for game developers...I just wish the sports studios would attempt to make the same leaps and bo...
that have objectivity like yourself, kudos.
I love the art direction, the mood, the atmosphere, everything looks fresh, which I think is pretty ironic for such an oversaturated genre.
I can't even imagine what the end result will look like after they add the several effects, not to mention touch ups, that are reported be in the works. I still remember the KX2 dev on NeoGAF claiming "you've seen nothing yet", and I hope he's right...I want this game to be perfect, because what I saw from '05 combined with this y...
Relax, I own the game and think it's a lot of fun, but it really is a re-hash of 2K5, and sorry, but after a 3 year hiatus, that's just unacceptable.
Hopefully this game makes a mark on the genre, and lights a fire underneath VC and Tiburon both. Nothing would please me more than to see this engine implemented in my beloved 2K series, but for whatever reason, it's not. Maybe it will be after the reception of this game is observed, who knows.
For what it is, it's ...
won't be noticed when you're wrapped up in the game...I'm with the crowd that would get this for 360 though...I'm in no hurry to buy a $2,000+ rig. Maybe next Christmas, but certainly not now.
post..
Why not pocket an easy 150 million right now while the HD market represents less than 1% of the overall market, then capitalize and go multi once the deal is up and there's inevitably more penetration.
It's not a bad idea IMO. Even if HD-DVD were to somehow die tomorrow, Paramount would still have 150 million...today, and I can't imagine they wouldn't make the move to Blu-Ray if that were to happen.
Those of us with PS3's and standalone Blu-Ray players will just ...
Nah, just joking, but the Smash Brothers franchise is easily within my top ten(most fun I've had with fighting games since MvC2).
I think they look about even to be honest. Whether one is better than the other is a tad irrelevant, because all 3 consoles at least have SOMETHING that looks. You can bet your bottom dollar that I'll be getting Mass Effect and Bioshock whenever I pick up a 360, and for my PS3, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, and UT3 or Haze round out my top 3.

I think it looks awesome, and it's a day one purchase for me come February. Been waiting for a good RPG for this gen..played Oblivion on my PC already, so that was out the window. Folklore is good...but not nearly as meaty as I'm looking for.
