but to be honest with you I think the hype award goes to Halo 3. Gears comes in at a close second. This isn't to say anything bad about the games, or good for that matter, just pointing out that they both received a TON of hype.
Killzone has internet buzz...that's it. It's rarely seen in magazines, NOWHERE on television, absolutely NO association with products, the marketing just isn't really there yet.
Add to that, nobody from Sony or Guerrilla has promised jack...
screen taken from video feed(we know those can be hit or miss), vs. direct frame grab...what do you think will be more representative of the final product?
Even though it was admitted that it was touched up a bit, these touch ups are nothing that will tax the hardware. Even though my expectations are low from a graphical update standpoint, I'm fairly optimistic that the final product will look at least closer to the right screen.
and funny IMO that whenever Guerrilla speaks, EVERYONE listens.
All of this crap won't matter(as if it does anyway) in a very short time. 2007 is just about gone, and somehow I don't think the 6 or 7 million owners of the system are ready to just up and give up on it.
Anyone, and I mean ANYONE who takes blogs and opinion pieces like this seriously, be it PS3, 360, or Wii, is an imbecile. Anyone.
Let the trolls blow their hot air.
The ammunition is running dry and there's no reserves left...keep on trying though. The bullsh*t has less and less credibility with each passing week. Blogs like this will be forgotten by the time the new year rolls in.
I tell ya, every dumb*ss has a voice with a blog...keep pushing your agenda kiddies. Sports fans are more civil and composed than gamers these days. That's SAD.
but truth be told, I had never heard of the game myself until these screens were revealed. It's very much on my radar, though.
I hope it plays well, but do yourself a favor and check out the trailer on the official site. IT seems to have something of a pulp flavor with a bit of tongue-in-cheek humor as well, which is refreshing to say the least. I can appreciate a game that doesn't take itself too seriously, which is part of why I've liked GTA so much over the years. Their sati...
I still have that same trouble myself. Even if I've found a game with one or two users, sometimes it takes forever for an additional player to find our game.
Hopefully the patch fixes all these issues.
just another company for either Activision, Ubisoft, or EA to c*ckfight over...sad to say.
I used to have lag problems myself, but when I enabled a DMZ for my PS3's IP they largely went away. Not completely, mind you, but for the most part I can play lag free games. It's a temporary fix to a permanent problem, but it's something.
That's not to give a free pass to IW though...great game, but they really should have optimized their online MP.
Oh brother...I'd ask you if you were joking, but I've seen far more appalling and ludicrous statements, particularly on this site.
Even though I wholeheartedly disagree with you about the looks...that's strictly a matter of opinion so I won't go there.
What I WILL say though is that you're nuts if you think either of those games is better than the other...neither is out, so that little claim is completely unsubstantiated. Try again. On second thought, just don't ...
but when there are several other sandbox games in the pipeline that look better, one can't help but feel a certain way about this games looks.
Have you seen Mafia II? 8 Days? 2 Days to Vegas?
Think the graphics are great all you want. That's opinion, and you can't be wrong about that. Neither can I, on the other hand, for thinking otherwise.
Here's a nice one of Mafia II for ya:
I know that image isn't from GTA...that was my point. If there are games out there with a similar style yet better graphics, then you bet your bottom dollar that GTA4 has average generic visuals.
That screenshot is from Mafia II.
I rest my case.
we just don't know when the hell they'll finally release it:

VERY average, and that's being generous.
I suppose you missed the part where I said I still want the game.
Anyway, here's why it's average:
is it's average graphics. Otherwise, with as much as there is to do and ESPECIALLY since the Euphoria engine is an integral part of it, it should be an absolute blast to play. I can't wait.
I wasn't terribly impressed with the first screen, but these look like trash. PS2 could do this. As a matter of fact, Soul Calibur 3 looks way better than this...WAY better. I say go back to the drawing board. Any idiot fanboy, no matter how biased they may be would root for their OPPOSING console to do better visuals than this. Jaggies everywhere, crap...
Oh well, hopefully it plays well. If it does, then I'm sold, but that doesn't mean the visuals will get a free pass. The li...
What they need to add is more and better physics for plant life.
Uncharted is currently the best looking PS3 game IMO, from a graphical fidelity and art standpoint, but 95% of the flora was stationary. Drake clips through the vast majority of bushes and shrubbery, and there are about 4 or 5 specific types of flora that actually moves when he walks through them, and I'm not terribly fond of that trick at all. There's too many beautiful looking objects in the world for them all t...
but I don't like the body proportions. I agree with the above in that he looks somewhat like the Hulk.
Nice art style though, very distinct.
spin in the original description got the ax.
that we'll be getting a new trailer soon? GDC? Who said that?
