Somebody got us good, and all of us. I believed it too, while not caring for scores, I was just trying to tell people not to throw this in the face of others. Karma is a motherf*cker, huh?
This is EXACTLY why you shouldn't get all wound up over scores ladies and gentlemen, GOOD OR BAD.
and as a matter of fact, if you're a fanboy without a shred of objectivity, then just pass on this post.
Anyway, I remember while the PGR vs. GT5 war was raging on, that the general consensus was that GT5 had sub-par environments, particularly when one considered how meticulously detailed the cars were.
Not so anymore, I'm afraid. I can say with confidence that this is a notch above what PGR showed, and the only reason I say this is because PGR4's backgrounds imp...
I hate to break it to you, but that's not the way it works. A game is(or they should be, anyway) judged based upon what it is. GT5P has been judged as a game that has 37 cars and 5(10?) tracks. GT5 will be judged as a game with over 500 cars and however many tracks, features, etc. it may have. It's not some scaling system based upon content, as a game is a game, regardless of how big it may be.
Furthermore, it may very well garner a lower score from Famitsu, say a 37 or 38. Fi...
You can bet your bottom dollar that it is. That isn't a bad thing at all though, because personally I agree with sajj about it catering to different types of gamers. The PSP doesn't NEED to cut into DS market share, because it's standing on it's own two and pleasing the folks that are using it.
In any case, I stick by the guns I've always had at my side in that commercial success /= greatness. Whether or not the PSP is outsold 2:1, 5:1 or 80:1 by the time the next batch of hand...
You better get your hands on one of their new dictionaries in a hurry, then.
as I have NEVER played a Gran Turismo anything(full game, demo, whatever) that I didn't like. The problem is that this is practically prime material for the trolls to rally around. They're running out of material enough as it is, and that's especially evident with WilliamBakers pathetic little quip, but people have been saying some pretty outlandish stuff about this game. I've heard people claim that there will be 0 jaggies, the physics will be better than anything, the graphics will look tw...
but I think we should let the games, sales, and the pending momentum shift do the talking.
People have been pretty dastardly over the past couple of years or so, but hey...and I don't mean to sound cliche, but two wrongs don't make a right.
I think it will hurt their pride a lot more if we keep our heads high, enjoy our games and don't taunt, because we haven't sunk to that level. Let the trolls act like spoiled children all they want, no need to egg them on.
just couldn't resist, huh? What's more pathetic? A troll scouring the internet to antagonize gamers, or people reviewing a precursor game?
I'll go with the former.
but some of you need to grow up and quit teasing the Xbots. Who gives a sh*t, really, just enjoy the game and leave it be.
Secondly, don't be so sure about the game looking and playing so much more flawlessly than it does now lest your expectations get the best of you once the game is released. Need I remind anyone about the freaks who flipped out over Sony not delivering certain things for FW 2.00 that were um...NEVER promised?
PD hasn't said a word about this s...
I've always thought this prologue stuff was a stupid idea...what's the point?
Should 2K sports release NBA 2K9 prologue next spring with maybe 10 teams and an 8 year association mode?
Yeah, I won't deny that it's nice to get your hands on an early version, but when you put it into perspective, and especially with how much the fanboys swear by God that the final version will look 10x better(it won't, MARK MY WORDS), it seems foolish to even bother with such a thin...
I wonder how long it will be before the trolling zealots try to incorporate this into their smear campaigns...
Trolls like you have been spouting that tripe since day one. The only thing becoming irrelevant is fanboy extremists like you with a petty agenda to push. Folks like you will fall by the wayside like that pathetic blog post on why the PS3 supposedly failed.
When gamers are finally playing games and not coming to sites like this to find their last vestiges of hope, you'll just look more and more like the imbecile you are.
But you believe that if you want to, Zhuk....
Either way, congrats 360, Wii and I guess DS owners, hope they do boxing justice.
I doubt the next Fight Night will even exist.
but my point was that it's senseless to get all wrapped around the axle about something so minor, particularly when things like this are so widespread and often times MUCH worse than what we're seeing here.
This isn't even the equivalent of a single song on an upcoming album getting leaked...
Then again, Meus could be right and it all may be contrived. With the way gaming journalism has been for a while, it wouldn't surprise me. Hard to know who's genuine anymore...
This is the internet...this is 2007...deal with it.
Almost, ALMOST as bad as multi-millionaire producer Dr. Dre crying about Napster "taking food out of my children's mouths".
Yeah it sucks, but it didn't need an essay nor was everything leaked.
That sort of game won't be quite as taxing as Uncharted 2 will be, and they could use to the time to further advance their engine. Uncharted is breathtaking, but there's several things they could do to make it more lively.
A fantastic first achievement, but they need time to work on it. Besides, I'm starting to get sick to my stomach of these annual games that publishers grind out these days.
is making me think that this will be one of those stories with a twist ending, where the protagonist is either having illusions or dreaming.
That's good for me though, I love plots like that.
It's those same lofty expectations that ruined the original game for many people. I think it's a better idea to go into it optimistically as opposed to expecting things, because if your expectations aren't met...then what?
Again, I hope it will be good, but I'm trying to keep my expectations in check.
Lair didn't have a public beta. This will.
Lair wasn't directly overseen, funded, and produced by Sony. This is.
Lair didn't have the benefit of having a tremendous amount of feedback from a sub par first entry...this does.
Now, all of this isn't to say that Killzone 2 WILL be a success, but I really don't think it will flop Lair style. It could very well end up being a dud, but not quite that bad.
but my point still stands...the whole world latched onto the score as if it were some sort of lost and found religious prophecy they've all been waiting for...turned out it was a bunch of crap.
Again, this is why we shouldn't get wound up over good or bad scores.
