and as of right now, there isn't much we can do about the past. Saying a solution to a CURRENT problem is rooted in the PAST makes no sense.

I fully agree that they should have either delayed the launch or simply had better QA from the get go. The fact of the matter is that this is not the case, and standing by and doing nothing would benefit nobody.

While I wouldn't say they deserve a pat on the back, as the problems are inexcusable for as widespread as they are...

Should Microsoft just have not bothered to come up with a new HW configuration and leave consumers in the dark, then?

You've gotta do what you've gotta do.

I don't care how you want to spin it, the man-hours, resources, and time is better spent on the NEXT INSTALLMENT.

CONGRATS to those that will buy this and enjoy it, but I'm sticking to my guns, this stuff should just be included from the get go, even if it must stay 260 exclusive, and thye should move on to another project.

A whole year later that could be devoted to another title seems like a waste to me. Before anyone gets wrapped around the axle about being a ...

My goodness, that game was crack, and the very reason was because it's not lifebar or damage sponge based. You can die in one cut, roll around, become disabled, and all sorts of things.

It was tense in a similar way to rock paper scissors, or that samurai mini game from Kirby Superstar. :P

I don't think that would work for all games, but I'm just showing that it has and certainly can.

As far as caluclated hit detection and reaction, FNR3 is to this...

Somebody called it. Didn't take long. Good news about the update and someone finds this to derail the enthusiasm. Seriously, you guys are really running out of material. You know who you are.

titles have exceeded one million sales. Now we just need to see that for other games...-_-

Jak, and Team Ico, and others will be officially announced.

They really do have some big guns up their sleeves.

This conflict between the Helghast seems like it can only go one of two ways...the humans win, or the Helghast do. *yawn*

Hopefully this is true, I love huge triangle wars, brings back good memories of Starcraft.

With this, perhaps we can get another origin and have an excuse to delve further into their galaxy depending upon who gets defeated.

I think this depends upon the success the other games enjoy. If Killzone lives up to the buzz(there's been no hype), then this game can get some more breathing room, which means more time to make it better.

there's also Infamous, GT5, possibly Resistance 2, and Motorstorm 2 to think about as well. Maybe FF13. If these games deliver, then frankly I can do without GoW 3.

take notes. Street Fighter 4 could use this level of detail. First pic looks great.

If the final game will be superior, then my point still stands...why bother?

I liken buying I liken buying GT5P to buying a beta...it's just not worth it since the final game is so close.

I don't how this could be spun into bad news, but people are trying.

No matter how much you love this game, I think it's safe to say that time, money, and resources are better off going towards a sequel.

I don't like the idea of "episodic content"(what a great buzzword) and DLC. To me, that's only taking resources away from any sequels or other projects in the pipeline. Patches are a different story.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next Motorstorm wasn't as big a step up from the original as we're all hoping, that game has been flooded with DLC since it arrived.

takes precedence above that I think. Gears 2 is sure to sell at least as well as the original, and probably more because of buzz and hype.

All of those games save for GT5P don't interest me at all. I'm still sticking with my guns that GT5P is a ridiculous purchase since the full game will be here within a year. Said it before and I'll say it again: Prologue would only be worth it if you rated even a 50% discount from the full version. We all know that won't happen though.

What's funny to me is people preach that GT5 will be miles beyond what Prologue is, yet they're spending money on a half-baked taste of GT5. Doe...

On the contrary, if you're anything more than a casual gamer then you might care about sales. READ: not should. but might.

It's no big secret that publishers are vultures that will go where the money is. Doesn't make them bad, that's the way of the world. If your console isn't selling, then don't expect there to be a ton of support. 2 + 2 = 4, after all.

Likewise, if you're a fan of a particular franchise, then you had better hope that the game/games sell well, o...

It's hard to pitch a case against MGS and FFXIII, that's for sure.

There are several unproven games in the pipeline, but they all show promise and they're pretty diverse.

2008 should be a good year. At this point sales are good, so I don't care much about how the hardware sells anymore, I just want a more plentiful library of games. Next year looks to have just that.

6751d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

I think we can put all the sales bickering to rest for all practical purposes.

Reason I say that is because all of the install bases have more than their potential for profit in the future.

Say what you want about the PS3, but the '08 line-up firmly tells me that sales will only continue to grow, and this console isn't going anywhere but up.

The 360 is selling steadily and so is the Wii, so there's no fuel to add to that fire either. Whoever is abo...

then you probably SHOULD care about sales. Remember Legacy of Kain? The director of those games ditched it for the most recent installment, and guess where she works now...Naughty Dog, and worked on Uncharted.

LoK has a pretty loyal fanbase, like any quality title would, but it will probably never get the conclusion it deserves and that's probably because of financial reasons.

If your favorite franchises don't sell well, then don't expect the franchise to last lo...

Sony needs to spend money MARKETING their games.

The same may very well happen to Killzone, as much as we all don't wanna hear that. There hasn't been a single teaser advertisement for this game anywhere. It's on the life support of internet buzz right now, and based on the performance of Uncharted and Ratchet, that's not nearly enough. The enthusiast community certainly doesn't represent the majority here.

Until they ramp up their marketing and advertisements, t...
