Come on. The X1 will be a great piece of hardware. Both the PS4 and X1 are going to KILL the previous gen hardware. It still sounds like the PS4 might have an edge, but both are pretty amazing for the price.
They have a point with Forza 5. Until GT6 or GT7 comes out on the PS4 (some time in 2020), this will be the console racer to beat IMO.
As for Ryse? Uggghhh... What a mess. Is anyone expecting that to average above a 7/10?
Ughhh. Quit it with the RRoD talk. They've learned their lesson, and won't take that chance this time. This increased clock speed isn't enough to push the heat to something worrying. Some of you are acting like they are overclocking a 1.6 to 2.4 or something. It's not a big enough boost to overheat anything.
I think my main point is this. If they have the specs that match or surpass the PS4, is it worth keeping your mouth shut about it and losing potentially a million console sales to the PS4 in the first year? Is it worth it to have Sony running their mouth about being the most powerful and having more favorable views during launch while Microsoft stays quiet? All because you want to surprise us? Most people don't have the money to buy both consoles at launch. Would Microsoft be waiting for ...
Looks good, although I probably would have skipped on the custom sound and cut the price of the console down a bit.
WHY would Microsoft keep this under wraps considering the PS4 hardware is finalized and wouldn't have time to react? There's no time for Sony to change things. Microsoft needed to let people know this in a conference as of a couple of months ago. If it's true, Microsoft are reallllly stupid to not say anything and have PS4 preorders killing X1 preorders. Gamers needed to know this stuff at E3.
I'm just finding it really odd that Microsoft said around E3 that s...
Even if they made zero blunders with their policies, they still were in tough with the $100 higher price tag. Sony had ALL of the momentum entering in last gen with the PS2 going into the PS3, and the pricing really knocked the momentum right out of their sails, or rather, sales. ;) Microsoft is making the same mistake along with not having a 1 year launch advantage. The momentum Microsoft had going into this next generation has been slowed down big time.
They will have it, but they clearly are not making it as much of a priority as Microsoft. I would expect it to be better on the X1. Luckily I don't really care because I usually have other people talking around me when I play, and also feel kind of silly using voice controls.
I just like that they are changing things up from the CoD/Battlefield rehash of things. Heck, I think this looks more fun than Killzone: Shadow Fall. Technically I think KZ is doing a lot more, but for actually having fun, I think this game will be better. I don't think necessarily this will become a new franchise as successful as CoD, but I love the change.
Do you honestly think it will play differently? It's the same game without the visual boost. Don't get me wrong. The X1 version will be better than the 360, but for the visuals.
Looks great in screens and horrible in motion. Can anyone confirm that this game needs motion to be played? Oh.... Wait.... Dangit! ;)
The animations are some of the worst I've seen in any game. You've got to think that they will clean this up before release. Otherwise this game is going to tank in the reviews.
LOL. True. :)
What will hurt it on the X1 has nothing to do with it not being great or potentially ending up on the PS4. It's that it can be played on the 360 as well. Of course it won't look as good, but it will play the same and without spending $500. Microsoft should have made the deal X1 only to move more X1 units.
Looks like a blast for sure. But I will be trying it on the 360. It'll be the uglier brother, but should play the same, which is what makes this game a must have...
Looks great. They should have just released it on the X1 though to sell more X1s instead of having it also on the 360. While it's going to look much nicer on the X1, you 'll get the same pace, game mechanics and multiplayer that is really what's making this game stand out. It looks like a blast to play.
I found it very revealing that a game like Ryse that was BUILT for Kinect from the start opted out of Kinect for the character controls. If any game was meant for Kinect motion controls, this was going to be it.
If Kinect is so 1:1 and works so well, why not put Kinect to work with Ryse? This voice control stuff can just as easily be done with any camera with a mic. It was the being able to track fingers and more detail that was supposed to make Kinect 2 so remarkable IMO.
I think what is really damaging for Microsoft is that there are still plenty of general gamers that don't know the reversals of policies that were announced with the X1 when it first came out. A lot of people I know heard about the X1 when it was first announced because it was on the general news, heard about the policies, were turned off by them, and haven't heard about the changes since then. A huge number of gamers aren't paying attention to the other events, and the message is...
I can agree with that. Ubisoft does PS3/PS4, and it's because they love developing for the console and like working with Sony. With EA, they must have bribed them to death. ;) LOL
Let's face it. Both sides throw money at these devs, and gamers suffer for it.
I actually think this didn't turn out as well as EA probably would have wanted. I think going into this exclusive deal, EA probably thought the X1 would easily be the leading console in the US and UK, so they could have a game sell like crazy on the best selling console, AND have Microsoft throw money at them as well.
Microsoft better have thrown a lot of money their way to delay a game on the PS4 that probably would have sold even more on the PS4 at launch. And while Ti...
No one can tell an X1 buyer that it's not worth it for that buyer. Some will buy the X1 because they love Halo and Gears. They might not care about PS4 exclusives. So for them, it's worth the money. Even if the PS4 was $200, they might value the X1 more. They might value the idea of investing in the potential of Kinect 2. That's what THEY value.
If the X1 was $399, I'd still get a PS4. But that's ME. That's not anyone else. I put value into Naughty Do...
It's really a shame there was so much focus on a game like Ryse, and less focus on a gem of a game like this. This IMO is the best launch title on the X1 by far. It has the most depth and value by far. 24 players online is awesome. My biggest beef with Forza games of the past was # of cars on the track.
