Shipped means very little. If Microsoft goes on and tells say Walmart that they can expect to sell a huge number of Xbox One consoles in November and December, each Walmart stocks up in a warehouse palettes and palettes of consoles to meet what they think "could" be the demand. Stores don't just order a tiny amount at a time, especially in territories that have historically been a Xbox stronghold. So sold to consumers reflects way more what the real story is. Microsoft could eas...
While Sony is doing amazing, I will wait until I see what Halo 5 and Gears does for the Xbox One before I proclaim anything. Sony have done most things right this gen but can't let up.
This happened to Sony last gen, and it's good and bad. It's good because Microsoft can't take for granted anything, and will fight more for the gamer. The bad part is that the PS4 for the foreseeable future will be the lead platform. It also stinks that the PS4 will always have pricing leverage this gen. Sony are amazing at refining hardware and reducing costs, so any price drop Microsoft will throw at them that gains any momentum will be met by a PS4 price drop. Despite some bad ...
While the PS4 has been doing awesome in the US, Sony really can't let up and let Microsoft gain momentum. Halo IMO will be a big seller of the system these holidays. Driveclub IMO isn't going to move many units, so Sony better not take for granted some of the things coming in 2015 for the Xbox One.
Actually the 3 main founders have left. I'm not sure how much of the heart of Minecraft is left in the team. The same thing happened with Rare. Some of the main talent that was around when Rare was making games like Perfect Dark and others left when Microsoft bought them.
To make this buyout worth it money wise, Microsoft will have the change this game. Expect DLC to be the first thing they implement. And to make it clear, Sony, Apple, or any other company would do the same thing if they had bought them out.
Do people realize the iPhone 6 has 1gb ram vs 8gb on consoles? There's only so much you can do with such limited ram. The Nexus X is rumored to have up to 4gb of ram, but that's still pushing it.
This lineup plus no keynote = poor exposure for games that do get newly announced there.
The only thing that could really make units move ahead of the PS4 for the longer term is Halo 5, and that might come too late. Sunset Overdrive could get 10/10 reviews and I don't think that would be enough to vault One sales longer term over the PS4. My guess is the first month the Halo collection comes out, the Xbox One will sell slightly more that month than the PS4. beyond that, I just don't see it happening. And that's if Sony does nothing exciting. Just imagine when new game...
Those numbers are actually pretty bad for the Xbox One considering people were holding out in May to buy the Kinectless SKU.
I love what they are doing, but I think people are hyping this to the point where a lot of people will be disappointed. This game could end up getting 9.5 out of 10 reviews and it won't live up to the hype some people are putting out for this game.
The problem with the Cloud is that developers have 2 choices... Do they presume everyone has an awesome network connection and build a game with the power of the cloud to take advantage of THAT kind of bandwidth? Or do they scale it down big time to to make sure most if not all gamers can take advantage of it? By then, I really don't think it's going to make much difference. Maybe a bit. I guess I really don't want the AI in a game to become dense because I all of a sudden get som...
While Ryse looked good, having it at less than 1080p and framerate issues is not the best way of selling your engine to developers early on. I wonder if the same will be true with the Unreal Engine if Gears of War on the Xbox One was going to be the showcase for that engine and it also ends up being sub 1080p.
Nope. It won't happen. Although Spencer is focused on games now to save the Xbox One, Microsoft shareholders are less inclined towards gaming now.
Would I like to see a Sony or Microsoft pick them up? You bet. Would it happen? Nope.
I'm loving the lack of invisible walls and barriers. It would be cool if there were some easter eggs in parts of the world if you go off course a bit.
If the game is fun, then that's all really that matters for many gamers. That said, native 1080p on a 1080p set is always going to look cleaner than upscaled. There is a difference when you have to interpolate. It's impossible to make it look as clean as the TVs native resolution. It comes down to then is a $400 console that can handle 1080p more easily a better value than one that seems more like a 900p
It's about what a gamer finds more important. I'd take f...
LOL at the disagrees:

Read the article. Coming to Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. It's Xbox console exclusive, but also PC. Why does it hurt some people when it can be enjoyed by more than one kind of console owner? The more the merrier. :)
One of my top 3 games of the show, but this game is also coming to the PC. :) Google Ori PC and the news is there. I think it's also coming to the 360.
But honestly, I loved what I saw there. Gives me an ICO / SotC vibe which I love. :) This and No Man's Sky looked amazing. :)
Sorry. Microsoft won E3.
But Sorry. It didn't do nearly enough to change the momentum to give the Xbox One more sales over the PS4. They needed to show actual gameplay of Halo or Gears that would blow us away to do that. The demos they did show like Sunset OD and Fable Legends looked fine but not great. Microsoft showed more games, but also had more CGI.

Some people act like Sony can't drop the price as well.
If Sony notices the gap close, they will just drop the price as well. Microsoft have already made basically 3 moves with price/value. They started at $499, dropped Kinect so they had it at $399, then added value with a bunch of games at $399 after that. That didn't do the trick, so they had to drop it to $349 with a bunch of games. Sony basically have just been bundling a few more games to add value, but haven...
