Well, here's just ONE of the lighting glitches in video form. I've played the game and know what I'm talking about here.

There are a LOT of effects that flip flop in and out. They've created some AWESOME facial details to make the game look awesome during dialog, but at the expense of some very smeary texture work and fluttery effects and animations.
Another annoyance is that they think they tricked people into shorter loading times. Instead of elevators views in your ship, you're treated to a blueprint scan of you going down an elevator, and it STILL takes long to go from some levels to another. How stupid do they think we are? It's still about the same loading time in many cases. LOL!
Loving this game. It's probably going to be my Goty.
But yeah, it's rough in some patches. The tech they are talking about actually translates into some pretty jerky dialog scenes. Eyes cross a bit, mouths smile too much in spots where they shouldn't be, and heads jerk a bit more than the last game. Lighting in this game cuts in and out, camera jumps, very bland textures in the environments (especially indoors).
Again, because of the characters, art direction, grea...
They're going to have to do it in the gameplay department because the UE IMO isn't strong enough anymore to compete with the Naughty Dog Engine. I have no doubt this game will be awesome, but my guess is it will be somewhere in between the Uncharted 1 and Uncharted 2 game engine. Even with an amazing game like Mass Effect 2, the engine is REALLY looking rough in some parts.
I actually think Android might be able to make more waves here with Flash support coming. Having Flash support on a device like this should have been priority number one, but Apple knows their game apps are basically glorified Flash games for the majority of them. Pricing is pretty good though. Thought it would have been higher. But I can see this flopping big time for anything other than hospitals using it and planes. It's too big to pocket, and too small to do serious work. It's also really...
Not a great sign when they include 2 modes into how long it will take generally. Bungie played around with numbers with ODST, saying 8 hours, and people finished it in up to 4-5 hours. How much do you want to bet you can complete the single player in 5-6 hours?
The funniest gameplay length statements came from Insomniac with Resistance 2, saying it was like 100 hours or something between single player and co op. Co op was boring and slow, and single player was "meh". ...
What annoys me is we have say a Bayonetta PS3 vs 360 comparison, and people will slam the PS3 version. When the PC looks better than the 360 version, both will get the exact same score and it doesn't matter. LOL
This game should be awesome. :)
Even if MS and Sony tie, it's a win for Sony because Japan and probably Europe is already in Sony's pocket for those months. Sony outsold the 360 in Japan by around 400k at least, so MS better have sold 400k or more in the US than Sony with the PS3.
LOL. Yeaaaaaaaahhhhh.... Suuuuuuuuure.
They would be stupid to not use a BR drive in the PS4. They could probably fit 100gb or 200gb on there by then. Please don't be stupid on this one Sony. LOL
This is a long ways off guys. I'm sure it will look better than this. This to me looks about as good as Gears 2 or a bit less, which is going to look dated at the end of this year. But expect a bump up. This is a beta after all.
I can't believe it. I thought I would never buy a space in Home, but that fishing game (I love fishing games) just might have made me want to buy this space.
Ya know, this 3D thing is going to be a VERY hard sell. You can't walk by a store and notice it. You can't watch a preview video at home and see it. You have to get those glasses out in a store that happens to be previewing it and try it. Most won't even bother. I dunno. This is going to be dead unless they figure out a way to broadcast in 3D without anything but your eyes.
30fps isn't the speed of this thing. That's like saying the moment you slap someone, that's the response time. The actual response time is the processing after you receive that 30fps info. Natal will receive that info at 30fps and the 360 will have to process that into something usable. If it allows multiple users, it will have more to process. It's got a lot to do with full body tracking here guys and a potential of multiple users.
They didn't even use the words shipped. This could be manufactured. They used the words "sold" for games, which means shipped, and left the 39M number questionable at best. But my guess is the numbers are around that number. They had sold over 28M last year at this time which puts them around their 10.5m that they seem to be stuck at each year.
So no one finds the lack of the word sold or shipped a bit odd with the 360 numbers? They kind of left it open to include manufactured but not yet shipped to retailers or their warehouses. They mention sold for software but not sold or shipped for this?
Anyone else find it annoying that Sony and MS never seem to reveal numbers that we can compare? MS says 39M 360s exist, and Sony says 3.8M sold starting late November?
If Natal does catch on in 2010, MS should be able to sell more than the PS3 or at least the same. If Natal doesn't catch on, Sony has the year in terms of console sales (although reach WILL be the biggest game seller in 2010)
MS after the first 2 weeks of December in Japan last year was at a total of around 23,000. After 2 weeks this year, they've managed around 15,000. Sony with the PS3 has doubled over last year and are at about 145,000 for the first 2 weeks, so draw your own conclusions...
Man, a LOT of poor excuses there. Flash is buggy? Not on a PC. Work with Adobe then Apple.... Obviously he's using that point to avoid the fact that Flash video has overtaken Quicktime on the internet as standard, and that Flash games are free and compete with a LOT of iPhone games. I hope Apple gets trounced in this market.
