My Live subscription expired in January after four years and now use PSN for online games. Have to admit it's been tempting to renew these last couple of weeks but I'll give them another week or so. I'd rather spend the money on games.
I believe that Sony didn't know the full extent of the break-in before Monday. Still it would be interesting to see their internal memos leading up to the decision to shut down PSN entirely.
Been renting KZ3 for about a week and the MP is fantastic - especially Warzone! With all the different classes and special abilities there's a lot to keep you entertained for quite some time.
The one thing that kind-a bugs is the Marksman class can be upgraded to become completely invisible, even while firing. I have a hard enough time dealing with them without them being hidden so full stealth is just ridiculous.

Vote with your wallet by not buying games with online passes. If everyone does this they will stop.
I've never bought a game with an online pass including one that I buy every year for the last four years. There are plenty of great games to choose from.

Agree. Bought and completed Portal twice (PC & 360) but wouldn't rate it in the top 10. Wouldn't include GTA IV or Half Life 2 in top 10 either - especially over Uncharted 2.
Also, did I miss Mass Effect 2 somewhere? No Ratchet & Clank? MGS4?
Why wouldn't they include a Motion Plus option? Only thing that makes sense is they tried and it wasn't any fun. Oh well, very disappointing to read this review.
Love this series. One awesome thing from this video is how they shortened the time from when you crash till you're back in the race. Looks great!

I take back everything. After messing with the assists, brake settings and changed the view option to tilt, there's actually a brilliant game hiding underneath. They turn on a bunch of assists by default which completely control your bike and does it in a weird way. Turn them off and it's probably the best motorcycle racing game ever. A Must Buy for me.
@kreate Even though I have a BC PS3 that does everything in this article plus upscaling and smoothing, I still buy some HD Collections.
Bought the GOW collection since I sold my PS2 ones and will definitely buy the SotC/ICO remix since they will most likely improve the framerate. Also will buy the Metal Gear Collection - hopefully it includes the first Metal Gear! :)
Add to the feature list:
* 1080p upscaling for all games
* Optional hard drive to install your games
The only problem with this idea is that new game releases for PS2 are few and far between.
That's what I'm doing right now... playing MGS2 and have MGS3:Subsistence on order. MGS2 is still a really good and fun! They are making the Metal Gear HD Collection to be released this Christmas.
That would be great but Sony's PS2 strategy is to sell HD Collection bundles.

Ouch. The Follow the leader mode sounds interesting. Hope they fix the online problems and corrupt save files. The last version was fun.
Yep.. all games have a budget and since trophies didn't exist when FoM was created it wasn't in the budget, nor was the code even designed to support trophies so it's not so easy to simply tack them on afterwords. Then estimate the actual cost of adding trophies, say $45,000 - and offer to add them if someone will fund its development. Let the gamers who want trophies donate money for the cause and if they raise enough I'm sure they'd be happy to add them. They're in b...
