EA: Greedy as we wanna be!
I'm with you. Boycott all games with Online Passes except for ones that are very special to you.
These passes hurt even those who buy new since the online community suffers after a few months, and restrict those with multiple consoles in the same house. Vote with your wallet and avoid online pass games.
lol... funny
Nintendo deserves a ton of credit for making such a dramatic correction so soon after launch. I never would have bought a 3DS at $250 and decided to wait for the inevitable 3DS Lite, but at $170 it was an easy decision to buy.
So far my DS games are better due the the nice circle-pad and improved sound. Also loving 'Zelda Ocarina of Time' and the 3D is very impressive. No regrets whatsoever.
Really looking forward to the Vita as well. It's looki...
I may do it. My slim mostly works great but freezes anytime I play back-to-back games of MAG Escalation. Wish I knew for sure what's causing the freezing since $100 is a lot to pay for a software bug. However, others in my clan don't have this problem and it could get worse over time.
EDIT: Ok, let's say I do this. What's involved with deactivating the old content and re-enabling it on the new system? Anyone have some advice or tips?
Well... Casablanca still holds it own just fine. I agree though with "Gone With the Wind," and the best example of this to me is "Citizen Kane."
Played with one of these last night at an android dev meeting. Unfortunately, it was by far the slowest and least desirable device of the bunch. Games were also disappointing.
The PSP Go is what Sony should make a phone from.
Something I'm looking forward to the most on next-gen consoles is true 1080p games. 90% of today's games run at only 720p native resolution, and then are upscaled from there.
Our TVs are 1080p native so I'd like to seem them utilized at their full potential.
1. Lower resale/trade-in value
2. Online community greatly reduced after a few months
3. Can't loan games to friends to try online
4. Can't play online with other consoles in the same house
5. Many boycott online pass games so less people online
Best Buy has a XBLA Triple Pack with Limbo, Trials HD, and Splosion Man for $9.99.

Agree with your point that a ported game has its own development costs, etc. However, it also matters that's it's a year old since it was first released. Mass Effect 2 is actually a great example since it sold 2.5M on 360 but only .5M on PS3 a year later.
Splinter Cell Conviction is the first SC I played and I like it. Just bought Splinter Cell Double Agent and while it doesn't have the flashy presentation of Conviction, it's a much better stealth game. Actually reminds me of the Metal Gear series.
Oh man... I loved the demo and was on the fence on buying it or not since I loved BF1942. Being it's from EA was the deciding factor not to. Soooo glad now. Vote with your wallet, Boycott EA.
They're clearly trying to establish a policy for running online servers for only one year. Don't want to buy the new version for roster updates? Maybe no online will help you decide. Shutting down NFL 10, PGA Tour 10, NCAA 10 just shows how little they regard they have for customers.
Just the opposite actually. Since games with Online Passes are worth less in trade, gaming is less expensive now for those who prefer single player campaigns. So they will rise in popularity.
Online games with Passes will now only be popular in the first few months, then dramatically drop off as the initial buyers lose interest since the majority of used gamers won't pay $10 for each and every game - only the super popular ones.
Oh no he di'int!
Wow, you are absolutely right:
When asked if Sony had plans to introduce a video-out cable such as an HDMI, here is what they said:
”No, PS Vita does not have a video output feature.”

I agree, the Vita is looking to really shake things up in portable games. As a PSP owner, the games look fantastic but many of them are hampered by compromised control schemes due to only having one stick. All Sony had to do was add a second stick and I'd be happy.
But they did so much more with the Vita and at an awesome price. Now console games can be ported over to Vita and they'll look & feel great. Since it outputs 720p so you can easily hook it up to your H...
That looks soooo freaking great!!! A few gameplay changes from Warhawk are being able to sprint, and being able to zoom-in using standard weapons. They also fixed the spawn camping problem by being able to spawn anywhere you like in you own territory. Can't wait til it's finally released!!
1080P... you must have heard of it by now EA.
