Agree completely about the trolling.
Though while GoW1 is a fantastic achievement for its time, GoW2 is a perfect example of lazy uninspired development.
Yes it has superb shooting mechanics, perfect cover system, great horde mode, nice style, moody atmosphere and fantastic looking hires backgrounds- and that's enough for many FPS lovers.
However, it has horrible transitions between levels. Moronic plot and pathetic voice acting. The new ...
Let's face it, your game must suck balls not to make it on the top 50 of the year. That being said Vanquish missed the boat but Final Fantasy XIII somehow snuck its sorry ass on there.
Yep... didn't know too much about it when ordering except for all the good recommendations and that it's by Platinum Games, but for $10 it's no risk at all. After reading about it while waiting am really excited to finally play. It looks sooooo fun! Sometimes anticipation is nearly as fun as the real thing, haha.
Loved the first Lost Planet and multiplayer was surprisingly fun. However the reviews for LP2 were really bad. Demo was only mediocre. I'd buy it for $5.99 though, haha.
Overall I've never seen the price of new games drop so fast as they have the last year. It's good to be a gamer! :)
Great point about the price of portable games. Love my DS and sortof wanted a PSP but never bought one mostly cause of the price of its games. That and it not having two sticks.
Somehow I expect portable games to have portable prices.. like the DS does. I certainly expect them to be lower than their console counterparts.
Just don't see ever paying over $40-$45 for a handheld game. How much will you pay?
Download the free full color strategy guide from Sega called "The Perfect Witch Guide." Look for the link on the bottom left corner after the movie plays, here: http://www.sega.com/platinu...
Can't wait for my copy to arrive from Amazon. Oh wait, I can since it wont be delivered till Feb 17 - ordered on Dec 29. Well worth the wait though... loved DMC. Thanks for the ...
What's interesting is that last generation (the ps2/xbox era) we did have variable prices for games. AAA games were $50; smaller studio games, like katamari damacy were $20. I'd like to know why things changed this gen? My hunch is it started with Microsoft forcing companies to charge $60 for all games on their system, and they had a one year head-start to establish the trend. I think this because 2kgames used to always undercut EA sports titles by selling their games for 40-50% less....
Hope the second one is as good as the first!
Most games start at $60 then quickly drop in value over time. That's the way it should be since you wouldn't want to pay full price for a three year old game. However on PSN and XBL time stands still and game prices hardly ever drop. You pay full price the day they are released and also two years later. That's why physical copies are so important. The second hand market reflect the true value of a game and is valuable for the games eco-system. We trade our games and use the money ...
None of them by EA... haha.
Last time I checked there were still dozens of people playing Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal. Unbelievable.
Another good trading site is GameTradingZone: http://gametz.com
Here's their top 20 most traded games:
#1 God of War III (PlayStation 3)
#2 Halo: Reach (Xbox 360)
#3 Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (PlayStation 3)
#4 Red Dead Redemption (Xbox 360)
#5 Fallout: New Vegas (Xbox 360)
#6 Borderlands (Xbox 360)
#7 Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction (Xbox 360)
...
Anyone else want one but think they're way too expensive? If so what do you think it's worth? I'd pay $60.
Agree completely. Sly is to 3d platforming what Mario is to 2d platforming. Perhaps Sly has slightly less stature since Mario defined the genre, but still, the Sly series combined platforming, stealth, tons of fun mini games, compelling stories and interesting characters, and even 3d - all polished to the nines. Just like the Mario games, Sly is still fun today and will be for many years.
I'm in that slow boat too!
Very cool... thanks!!
Yes, I know. Thanks. What I mean is that if you decide not to keep the new game and wish to sell or trade it in... it's now worth $10 less in value since the next person has pay $10 to play online. So while it's great that the game developers get more money from each used sale, the person who buys the game new has to suffer for it. That's why new games should be $10 less to compensate new game buyers for the lower trade-in value.
I'd be okay with the $10 online fee if they lowered the price of new games by $10 since the resale value is lower. So far I haven't bought any game that comes with the extra fee and that includes a few I would have otherwise.
Just yesterday UFC 2010 was on sale for $13 new, a game I passed on cause of the $10 fee. Didn't buy it cause I hardly played UFC 2009 and the $10 fee was the deciding factor on principle. Guess I'm sort-of holding out hope that the sales...
I wouldn't want to talk about tablets either if my company had invested millions in research and beaten the competition to market by several years yet no one cared until my biggest competitor launched their version and it became the second coming. Let me show you this Kinect over here ladies and gentleman.
Or buy used games! Cause developers make the same amount of money from a used game sale as they do a pirated one. Zilch. Yet everyone on their high horse probably buys plenty of them. Myself included, I'm just pointing out how blatantly hypocritical people are about this issue.
$60 games started with the launch of the 360. Even 2K Sports games are $60 even though they were 40-50% less than EA Sports games before the 360.
