The publishers will continue taking more and more away from us as long as gamers put up with it and keep buying their games no matter what pass-scheme they use.
Make no mistake about it, they want all games to be single use only. You won't be able to sell your old games, trade them in, share them, nothing.
That's where we are headed and the *only* way to stop it is by voting with your wallet and boycott all games with online passes. The time to take ...
Good article but it's more about not getting a backlog in the first place, not what to do about your huge freakin' backlog now! hahaha.
I was sooooo good the first half of this gen- only buying a new games when the last one was completed, not collecting. But man, those days are gone!
and the worst thing is going back and replaying old games again instead of starting the new ones. wtf?!! haha
Agree that Bioshock (and B2) are phenomenal but he was talking about the install times.
Just opt-out by filling out this form.. they even mail it in for ya:

I retain my rights to join a class action suit in case they remove PS2 backwards compatibility.
Perhaps a system update will change your mind.
Might as well try fixing it yourself. That's the cheapest option and even if it doesn't work you can resell the parts afterwords.
My 60gb's fan started getting louder over time so I bought a 19 blade fan, cooler running power supply and new thermal paste- all on ebay. It wasn't hard and I sold the replaced components so it actually didn't cost very much. The power supply didn't make much of a difference but the fan and paste helped dramatically. It'...
Great! All online games should do this.
I strongly prefer PES to FIFA but man, the demo of PES12 forces you to watch a 4 minute rendered video before you can even try it. Not good.
@Si-Fly
I also put more hours into GT3 than GT4 & GT5 combined. Although maybe not if Tourist Trophy is included - I loved TT.
GT3 was the most cutting edge but sadly the series has been slowly falling behind ever since.
I'm curious why you think GT4 is better than GT5? IMO, GT4 wasn't that much better than GT3 except graphically, but GT5 is significantly better than GT4.
GT5 has online racing, much improved menus, all the special events, car upgrades, b-spec mode, PS3 > PS2, and did I mention online? haha.
One thing I agree with is the missed opportunity on the Top Gear track. I'm not upset or anything, it's just that they probably paid a pretty penny for the license yet could have done so much more with it.
Read the awesome book "Snow Crash" by Neal Stephenson. He thinks that's going to be the future of all computing, not just gaming, haha.
cool, thx!
What's the resolution of these?
The article mentions it but if you have a Move, get Time Crisis: Razing Storm. Awesome on-rails shooter (3 games on disk) which are the best motion shooters, IMO. The pistol accessory is really good with it as well.
Another motion game that I haven't tried yet on the PS3 but was really good on the Wii is Dead Space Extraction.
Looks like it might actually be comfortable in your hands. I have an add-on grip for my PSP Go and it's much better with the grip so maybe this will be too.
Have to admit, I'm kindof excited about it. But yeah, it should have come with two pads to begin with.
You may want to give Nintendo a call about your broken Wii. My mom dropped their Wii and it stopped reading disks. She called Nintendo Support and they replaced it for free even though it was 3 years old. Worth a try.
I agree with you. However, we all make mistakes and at least they saw the problem and created a fix fairly quickly. Hopefully the add-on works better than it looks!
Who knows, they might offer some sort of trade-up program.
Because our TVs are 1080p native resolution so 1080p content is what looks best on them.
Don't you love how great Super Stardust HD and Wipeout HD look? I'm frankly disappointed that 1080p and 60fps isn't the standard *this* generation.
I respect your opinion but come to an entirely different conclusion based on the facts.
The rise of Netflix and online streaming shows that people don't have a need to OWN the media themselves - that they are perfectly happy watching a movie and then be done with it.
That's exactly why used games aren't going away- despite what the publishers want. Used games have value and we factor that value into the price when we buy, sell & trade our game...
