If you're paying anywhere close to full price for xbox game pass then you're doing it wrong
As Neonridr said, they have had multiple times where you can convert up to 36 months of xbox live (which you need if you play online games anyways) to xbox live + game pass for 1 dollar total. Not making it up, go google it if you don't believe me. So in my case, yes i have played launch day games for pennies per game, which is "pretty much free". What will i do this summer when that runs out? No clue ha ha
To say a different way, xbox just straight up stole cod and elderscrolls, 2 huge games the sold really well on playstation. cod-bros don't care where they play cod, they just need to have it because they're addicted. elderscrolls fans buying only 1 console might also switch to xbox if that's their fav game. what is sony offering the traditional xbox fans (1. Shooter fans, 2. Multiplayer fans) ? deathloop, and multiplat battlefield?
Sony already has amazing ...
If you can't see from the outside looking in that many of sonys big hitters are 3rd person story driven semi open world, then you need to look harder. There's nothing wrong with criticism. Sony would be smart to start making different style of games, because xbox old lineup yes was sort of crap, but with bethesda and activision-blizzard they just got 10x more diverse than their old days. Sony needs some multiplayer offerings, period. Bungie might be their best move yet in terms of ...
I agree they have too many 3rd person story driven adventure games. Bungie was a very good purchase as Playstation multiplayer exclusives are non existent. xbox upped their game with $$, elderscrolls is a very different games than gears of war. And Cod is the top selling multiplayer game on playstation. Time for playstation to start cranking out more games that aren't 3rd person stories.
Exact same experience here. It was one of the most basic games i've played in a decade. If that's the 'charm' then i just don't get it. Perhaps Switch fans are just that hard up for a good open world game
Thank you. I was also extremely underwhelmed. I bought a switch mainly for the hype of this game, and it just wasn't the best thing ever. I wouldn't put it in my top 10 open world games.
I went into BOTW seeing it's 97 metacritic expecting to be blown away. I thought the game was overly simple, easy, boring, and terrible graphics. I would've given it like a 7
Correct, most gaming sites won't give below a 5/10. So a 7/10 for gaming is average. With so many games out there to play it's hard to justify paying day 1 full price for a '7'
Edit: current 77 metacritic. IGN may be low on this one
Everton that's not how it works though. i just scrolled 30 ish recent releases on metacritic and nothing below a 50. A 5/10 is a bad game
Is this where gamers cough up money for the game and then regret it? Game Pass to the rescue, i tried it for 30 mins then deleted
They never said live service game, they said they are supporting it. There won't be expectations of them pumping out content every 3-6 months. I don't see the problem, they have a good track record of supporting the first game.
.
And to think their deals only start to kick in this fall. Series X launches 11/11/2022 with Starfield and then re-launches with Cod exclusivity in 2024. Will be lots of PS5's for sale then
Oh but the cost of game pass is gonna go up once we are all completely hooked on it. And i'll have no problem paying. Starfield, Wolfenstein, Elder Scrolls, all the call of duty's, maybe some BC cods with full lobbies, or a mw2 remaster, what if starcraft and WoW make their way to xbox, i'll also take Overwatch 2 please, plus whatever the other 20 studios are making which i haven't mentioned. It's actually insane they just bought a huge W after being ridiculed all last ...
darkrider, not sure your point, that's fantastic for Dirt5, i bet it would have sold a fraction of that if it weren't on PS plus. Now you see what's so great about xbox game pass =)
spin it how you want, 20 million people playing a game is great. game pass here to stay. by 2024 xbox will be cranking out a AAA exclusive every other month
How does this say that future games will be multiplat? "exiting agreements", so that part is same as what they said with Bethesda. And "Make THEM available on playstation beyond existing agreement" - what is THEM? They are going to allow the games in the existing agreement to stay on the playstation store even after the agreement period is over? (so you could read it as the next couple cods will be on playstation store forever). Or they are going to allow ALL future co...
