If Xbox 3 has this and can offer me all the channels I usually watch at a pay per channel sub that works out cheaper than my cable sub, then I'm buying an Xbox 3 day 1.
Me too.
My PC offers me bleeding edge graphics and mouse and keyboard input for when those things are preferred.
My consoles offer me comfort, convenience and reliability as well as a large screen and are home to a lot of great exclusives.
Why speculate?
It's fun to speculate, obviously it can go too far but discussing potential events in gaming is what we do as a community of gamers and gaming media. It's our hobby and our passion, we have every right to discuss it in full and make predictions based on evidence and rumor.
If MS don't want us to speculate then they should come out and dismiss some of the terrible rumors but they won't because, most likely, they're proba...
Any and all mistakes of the past are thoroughly behind them and the restructuring under Kaz has done them wonders. The future is incredibly bright for Sony.
If MS wants to compete with my cable provider they are going to have to offer me as many channels and services that they already offer me plus a built in DVR to record tv/movies etc. All this plus a game console near or on par with PS4 would be either VERY expensive or part of a heavily restricting subcription program designed to trap people in long-term contracts.
All the media streaming services will need a place on both devices if they wish to succeed. Both consoles will have plenty of media apps and entertainment services but securing exclusive content will probably be extremely difficult/expensive unless they own it i.e. Sony Pictures, Sony Records.

It's a shame you don't put your scary level of commitment, passion and dedication towards something other than trolling, you might actually achieve something great.

I've been saying for weeks that MS's silence on the Xbox 3, or at least the rumors swirling around it, would only act to damage their image with gamers and the media. This is happening right now and if MS continue to ignore the situation more and more people will turn to Sony/Nintendo.
It's like they just don't care anymore, like losing their year head start of sales completely has drained them of the will to even try.

Teaming up with the many different cable/tv providers around the world is where they may have hit a snag. I would imagine there will be a LOT of red tape involved in getting media partnerships on a global scale, especially ones that are worried that MS could step on the toes of their business.
I'm not saying it's not worth doing just that depending on so many different backroom deals could result in unforseen delays.

I honestly think MS have ran into a snag, with all the focus on entertainment services there is a lot relying on third party deals with TV companies, cable providers etc. Microsoft can't compete with these on content alone, the only way is to make deals that could take longer than expected. This is especially true outside of the states where the many differing entertainment providers won't be so keen to jump in or let MS ge...

The argument that mainstream gamers won't care is ridiculous in that they probably won't even know about it until they lose their connection and get booted out of game. That's when the penny will drop and the backlash will follow.

Well you can easily say you'd buy a PS4 based on what we've saw already but it's too early to make a descision regarding Xbox 3.

I hate what MS are doing. By the time May rolls round, people might be so soured by rumors and stuff that they no longer care.
They're going to need massive amounts of great content at E3 to put them back in some peoples good books.

Sony have become masters of creating an OS with a small RAM footprint thanks to the hardware limits of PS3. This means they could do a heck of a lot with 1gb GDDR5 at their disposal and still leave a massive 7gb for devs to play with.
