Nice spin, you make it sound like Santa monica would be ashamed to work on the Last Guardian. This of course is utter crap, as is your assumption that the game is somehow not meeting promises that you imagined up.

Yeah it's taking a while to be released and it's had trouble in development but if you take a look at the pedigree of the studio you would know the masterworks that have preceded it.

They can take all the time they want as long as the g...

I don't understand, if it still palys games how is it not competiting with Nintendo and Sony? It will definitely be taking on more competition from cable providers and tivo, not to mention Google and Apple but Sony and Ninty will still be among them.

Also I have some serious doubts about how the whole cable thing will work. I don't know how it works in the US but here in the UK we get cable boxes for free, why would we buy an xbox for that purpose too? Even if ther...

I'm asking for answers, I'm not speaking out "against" anyone.

I did mention that niether company had provided satifactory answers to some of the questions I have but this blog was generally directed at MS. This is mainly because they have been so quiet with regard to everything that is happening in the industry and it's a little unsettling.

I agree it would be a big mistake for MS to be the only ones to implement some kind of obtru...

Thanks, I just want something solid I can use to form even a simple opinion and comparison in my mind of what to expect from next gen consoles.

There's so much 'bad air' and it could all be turned around with very little effort, it makes me worried about MS and the Xbox 3.

If it's number 2 then why not come out and say it already? They could kill the PS4 hype dead if that were true, leaving it longer is just making their life more difficult.

It certainly wasn't perfect but they got their message out loud and clear, the PS4 will be a pure GAMING machine.

Beastly specs aside Sony carved out a graphic vision for their new platform, a promise of gamer focus, ease of development and enhaced networking capabilities.

Genius!

Sony must be kicking themselves.

Talk is cheap, show us games Msoft or GTFO.

MS can run a smear campaign if they want but it will be the games in the end that will sway the vote of the gamers.

Sony has clearly highlighted the fact that gaming is the TOP priority with the PS4, if MS cannot match that promise I will be very disappointed.

From the comments in the article:

"Nothing says 'love' like a tacky SUV with poorly done graphics on a shitty racing game."

I don't think Forza is a shitty racing game but I laughed hard.

They managed to get exclusive content for Destiny just fine.

You'd think with all that cash flowing out of MSoft's rear end they could afford to let their customers use those entertainment apps for free.

Uncharted 3 sold 5.72m (according to VGchartz)

Gears 3 sold 5.78m

So unless all of Sony's other releases that year sold less than 60k copies combined then you sir are full of it, good day. ...

OR they don't have enough to beat what Sony has shown already and they're struggling to pull something together, it's a possibility. It's not like MS to just let go of the spotlight like this, they are notorious marketing hogs.

Sure MS, you might not be worried now but if you leave it too late...

It most definitely will be but the focus is primarily on gaming, where it should be.

Backwards compatibility, probably the most over rated thing in gaming. 90% of consoles in history have not had BC or have had a half-assed approach to it and they've done just fine. Sure it's a good marketing point but people need to step back from their knee-jerk outrage and just think about what they'd rather have:

A system with BC that could cost upwards of $600/£450

OR

A system w/o BC that would cost around $400-50...

Luckily Sony is preserving their gaming history with Gaikai. Eventually every single Playstation Game from Crash Bandicoot to The Last of Us will be available to play. That's nearly two decades of awesome games that have defined 3+ generations of consoles over 3 new, successful multimedia formats.

The PS4 is a sexy beast, if I had one you know what I'd like to do with it?

..

..

I'd like to take it out to a nice restaurant, compliment it and treat it with courtesy and respect.

On topic, I'm glad the Vita is starting to sell better, a price drop in the west should see them jump even further. PS Vita is an amazing bit of kit and there's loads of great games lined up for this year.

Although not mentioned in the article, I think the immaturity lies not in the opinion of BC but in the way it's worth is exaggerated and used as a weapon in fanboy rants.

Like you say, there's nothing wrong with liking BC but claiming you aren't going to buy a console because you simply can't live without it does come off a tad immature.

I always see people who demand BC as wanting to 'have their cake and eat it too'. They demand ...

I feel like I should comment on this submission simply because of the pic :)

On topic, I don't mind DRM as long as it's not too invasive, which is none of it.

Agree with everything you said except...

"...many enjoy paying for the benefit of P2P online play, because they have to."

...who enjoys paying for anything, especially when it's free elsewhere.

Very well said though +bubs.
