I enjoyed those points too, until I realized it was all the game had to offer. I even went back again months later and gave it a second chance, and I still couldn't get into it.
I doubt Hulst had any say over the order of Astro's stages... Regardless of the order, both are great IMO. I think leading with GOW was the better option, being that I too agree that it was the better of the two, why not have it be what introduces people to the concept of other game-themed ...
It would take until the gullible suckers stopped donating.
I agree. I bought it due to the hype, and quickly got bored of it. Jump to location, carry out menial task while wave after wave of bugs attacks, go to pickup point, a couple more waves of bugs until the ship arrives, rinse, repeat. Boring.
Astrobot blew this out of the water.
Yes, even with the RT improvements, I still won't play this game on a flat screen ever again. It's just not the same. It actually affects my driving, the lack of depth perception makes me worse at it.
The developers had one job... properly implement support for the new hardware in their game. They failed. They say they're working on fixing it.
There are certain experiences you can create in VR that just don't work on a 2D screen... I'm all for letting developers have the creative freedom to create those experiences without having to worry about being backwards compatible with a flat screen.
It very much is when you're whining about a game being ported to a platform that cannot do the things another platform can.
Every time VR gets a good game, the whiners come in "it shouldn't be VR only!"... STFU and strap in.
"minus the cost of the disc drive"... and windows, and a controller, and a keyboard and mouse... Not to mention only being able to buy games digitally after spending over $1k.
Snap up the black friday discounts while you can!
So, it's common for everything to be discounted during this time, even new items.
What an Obscure Observation...

Another thing PS4 Pro failed to deliver, 60fps on most games. PS5 Pro is already hitting that target.
Yeah, politics are life. Games are virtual life. Some do it well (Helldivers is full of political jabs, and they pull it off.). Others, like this, don't.
I spent $200 and got a 2TB SSD that can do PCIE gen5 speeds (on the low end of it, but def faster than the 7-8gbps the gen4's can do. That's about what a Gen5 SSD costs to buy for a PC... and I also get much better ray tracing performance, 60fps in most games, AI upscaling that rivals DLSS, and 8k support. Not a bad deal IMO.
PS4 Pro was more powerful on paper, being that it was literally the same GPU in PS4 doubled... but PS5 Pro introduces features that the base PS5 just isn't capable of, such as high quality ray tracing, 8k, and AI upscaling. So, PS4 pro did increase the raw power more, but in doing so it didn't enable any new features that you simply couldn't do on the base model.
I wouldn't make a sequel until I knew it was better than my cash cow in every single way.
an RDNA2 card, vs. the RDNA 3/4 hybrid that is in Pro.
Warhawk and MAG would both make fantastic live service games.
Why not just buy it on playstation direct? Is that a US only thing?
Edit: NVM, I see they're out of stock. Found one on Ebay at stock price, though.
