The funniest part is, Phil Spencer's own words back up what I said ("Microsoft doesn't buy IPs to take them away from other platforms."), so you can disagree all you want, but the fact of the matter is MS is in it for the money, and there is no money in cutting out 60% of a game's install base. There also has never been any money in Microsoft selling consoles. They have lost billions on their hardware, and the only profits the Xbox brand has ever made came from their sof...

It would be extremely stupid of them to cut out their biggest install base just to have exclusivity on poorly selling consoles. COD (or any other Activision game) isn't going to propel Xbox ahead of PlayStation. Bethesda didn't, this won't either... and they know that. They would be cutting off their noses to spite their faces by making any of those games Xbox exclusives. "Let's take a console ecosystem (PS4/PS5) with roughly 130 million install base and cut them out in f...

Microsoft is officially a third party developer. One more step towards them exiting the console hardware wars that have never been profitable for them. The profits the Xbox brand has made has come from services and software, and MS is expanding on those strengths. If they were smart, and I think they are, they'd have GamePass on every system, handheld, tablet, phone, PC, etc. out there, and quit worrying about trying to sell hardware.

PlayStation has far too many of its own (actually good) exclusives for this to be any threat to them at all. People are sick of COD, and Activision in general. This is a huge win for Microsoft as a software developer, no doubt, but Activision would have to start cranking out some original content before this would be any real threat to Sony, not just Call of Duty 3033224 Modern Black Warzone Ops.

I guess Activision knew they were screwed after what Kotick did and felt this ...

Unfortunately, for many PC games, that's all you can do... imagine. There aren't anywhere near enough games that maximize modern PC hardware, because the percentage of people that actually own that hardware is very small, so they end up having to target mid-range systems so more people can play it. As such, that $3000 GPU doesn't really get maxed out until there are consoles out there that can do the same. To be specific, by "maxed out" I'm not talking about running ...

I miss Unreal Tournament 2004's ultra fast paced action... nothing since has really come close to capturing it. Going on sprees never felt more satisfying. A modern day version of that would be amazing.

I wonder if those hydrophobic coatings would work... it makes water bead up and roll right off of anything you coat it with. Might prevent fog too for the same reason.

I'm not sure if the announced PSVR2 Sense controllers do individual finger tracking, but I do know Sony released a video showcasing they had the tech working in their labs not long ago (link below), so perhaps when PS5 Pro Drops, we'll get updated PSVR2 Sense controllers as well, if finger tracking isn't already present in the PSVR2 Sense controllers at launch.

All these people saying "PSVR only has PS4/5 games with VR tacked on" obviously have never played one. It is home to the best VR platformer ever released (Astrobot, also one of the best platformers ever released in any format), the best VR racer ever released (Wipeout Omega Collection, which despite being "tacked on", revolutionized the game), Farpoint, one of the best VR FPS games out there, Iron Man VR is easily one of the best action/superhero games ever released for VR...

These Japanese broken Engrish game names keep getting more and more ridiculous.

Why? The fixed angles, especially those that made it difficult to see where you were supposed to go, were one of my biggest gripes about the OG FF7. You're throwing away the ability to truly take in Midgar's beauty by being able to look in any direction... kinda an insult to the artists that put so much effort into bringing it to life.

But it still happened. It also hasn't been in decline for years like E3 has, since long before COVID.

Quest is a decent toy, but it's no serious gaming system. I wasn't the least bit impressed trying it out... the controller tracking sucked, and so did the visuals. The burden of requiring a Facebook account only further adds to the disappointment.

Yes, one single USB C is confirmed, and it plugs directly into the PS5, no breakout box. Did anyone notice that the original PSVR uses PS5's aesthetic and color scheme? Look at the two side by side.

"E3 uses Omicron as an excuse to hide the fact that it is no longer relevant." CES just went off without a hitch.

@lucian, the original PSVR has plenty of stellar content... So you can't go lumping it in with Kinect, Vita (which also had stellar content, it just wasn't supported long enough), etc. It was the most successful VR headset out of all of the major players. Without it, the VR market would not have gained anywhere near as much traction as it has.

The system isn't even out yet, they've only announced one game so far... this article is stupid. The author is assuming it won't have stellar content and it's still a minimum of months away from release. Let them at least announce what that content will be before jumping to conclusions. PSVR already has stellar content, as well... Astrobot Rescue Mission, for instance, is one of the best platformers ever released on any platform, VR or not. So, not only is the author jumping t...

PR Reps at conventions and such are typically ill informed, and it's quite common for them to dodge questions their superiors didn't brief them on how to answer, if they don't end up giving the wrong answer entirely. I know this from first hand experience working with them at the 3 E3's I covered in 2006, 2007, and 2009.

Star Wars' story isn't exactly immaculate to begin with. It was always a bit cheesy, especially the newer films. It has its moments, but lets not treat it like it's the best story ever told. It gave us Jar Jar Binks, FFS.
