Agreed, move is everything Wii is and then some. Only Kinect's limitations could have hampered it, being that it only supports 2 players and isn't as accurate.
Ares, you still don't get it. One game download does not equal another. Each game is made by a different studio, each game has had a budget put into it that may or may not have been made back yet from it's sales, each game has different publishers that Sony has to pay royalties to for each copy sold (or given away).
Sony picked some of it's own games (among the highest rated first party games that they could give away. don't expect killzone 3, it's still s...
$3,850,000,000.
That's how much money this article is saying Sony should spend to give us a "welcome back" package to an online service we never even paid for to begin with, if they were to give each of us 77 million PSN subscribers a $50 credit.
Think about that for a while. Money spent on PSN does not all go into Sony's pockets. They have to pay the developers who made it, and if the content is third party, they also have to pay the publis...
yep, and you'll probably download free/discounted shit in that extra 2 months as well, in addition to the free movie rental, 100 free home items, and digital copies of those games you already have (allowing you to sell the hard copies you have if you like). you could even gameshare those copies with a friend in exchange for games you do not have yet.
Ares, you're a moron for calling the rest of us morons.
Those few games Sony is giving away are first party, so Sony can absorb the blow a lot better than if they gave out store credit which can then be used to buy any content, be it first or third party. If Sony gives out $30 if free store credit, they have no way of telling if you're going to buy something made by Sony or something made by Capcom. If it's Capcom, they've gotta pay every penny for it that th...
Glad to see someone with some sense. + bubbles for not being yet another whiny bitch who's crying about already having those games. The added PS+ subscription's free games and discounts are worth every bit of the value of those 4 games anyway.
you also get the free PS+ which = even more free games and discounts (and a free 2 month extension if you have it already), so I wouldn't be complaining.
Again, Sony can't give a $30 credit to every one of it's 75 million PSN subscribers. That's $2,250,000,000 you're expecting them to dish out (they still have to pay for those games if they just give you a credit, even the first party ones gotta be compensated for somehow to keep the studios from losing to...
Voj, I don't have either of those games, and it's because I've either sold them by now, or have had too many other good games to check out to get to them yet. You see, I actually have a life, and therefore I don't have the time to get out and play every single good game that comes to the PS3. I also prioritize my money and don't blow it all on video games, so some of those games that I did want (like Wipeout HD's expansion pack) I never got around to due to me having m...
I'm a plus member, and this list looks just fine to me. I never got LBP free, never got Wipeout free, never got Infamous free... you still had to pay for all of them with plus (though some did get discounts), so your point is moot. All you're doing is bitching and whining over a point that doesn't even hold up.
The downside of giving a credit, they have content on there from many different publishers, and if they give out credit they have to compensate those publishers for that. There are 75 million PSN accounts out there, if they give 2-4 free games that they must pay full price for, that adds up to a hell of a lot of money considering some of those games cost as much as $30-40. So, they had to offer a selection from first party games (and don't think they still aren't giving those studios ...
my counter article:
"5 reasons why GTA is this gen's GTA"
I produce a TV show for a living, and in the broadcast world the "day" goes from 5:30am-5:30am. They always say "Thursday 1am" when they actually mean Friday at 1am. I have to deal with this every time I buy airtime.
I'm a Sony supporter, and I still cringed when I got to the bottom of that article. Total fanboy garbage.
Making exclusive games allows developers to take advantage of that particular piece of hardware. When they make a game multi-platform, it means they have to cater to the lowest common denominator when it comes to system specs. If one system can't do it, neither version will get to use that feature. Only in isolated cases will the developer take the time to code a feature for one system and not the other as well. That adds to the production budget for a feature that will only increase sale...
I never have trouble finding a good match.
Given how Sony left us in the dark about the intrusion initially, I don't doubt they didn't say much to them at first either. Now however, since all has been revealed, those developers and publishers will be wanting answers as to when they can resume selling their games and DLC, so it's doubtful that Sony is still remaining quiet to them about it. they probably are being told not to talk about it with the public though, and for good reason. if something else goes wrong, or if it t...
I seriously doubt that Sony is keeping their publishing partners in the dark as to exactly when PSN's service will be restored... those guys are losing millions by the day due to this whole outage.
that much is pretty obvious... no need to say 'signs' of that. that said, WHY did they push it back that far? Our forum members speculate it could be that is when the psn store will be back online, since they are pretty much using these events as a way of pimping their DLC (many times they use modes/maps from dlc in these events). That said, recent reports of Japan possibly holding up psn going back online until their inquiry is finished aren't reassuring.
I hope ...
in addition, that extra heat generated means an even more powerful cooling system must be used, which increases cost even more. And if having built in flash memory is cheaper than a 20gb hdd, why did MS take that route with the arcade 360 slim? a little flash memory is cheap, and putting a sd card slot and a usb port on the console so you can insert your own storage solution is also cheaper. it makes a cheaper, more durable, and cooler running system. it only makes sense to move away from har...
