Lay off the caps... and hey, if you have $2k to waste on video games, go for it. The rest of us will be enjoying our exclusive console titles. When's the last time the PC had a AAA exclusive title come out for it that wasn't on consoles? Much less 10-20 of them.

Face it, the wii was never meant for the hardcore gamer. Nintendo knows this, and knows that dumping cash into trying to make core games for wii isn't a good idea anymore. It's time for them to move on. Wii has been out for 4 years, and you expect it (a system that spec wise belonged in the previous generation) to still be running with the big boys? It wasn't built for longevity, it was built to make a quick buck on the casual market. It did it's job, very well. Time for them ...

it couldn't be true, because the respect place going to playstation network is not sufficient to secure the overall system. it has said that hacker group anonymous observes responsibly for the action taken. in order to secure the playstation network correct, sony must return the system key with new ID for firmware adjustment.

I mean, come on! how could you think that? The article states it plain as day.

I'm actually way more excited about the screen in the controller idea than I ever was for motion control. The one thing I always hated about playing a FPS with other people (not online) was that they could see where I was on the map. If I wanted to snipe for a minute, they could see I was sniping and instantly would hunt me down. Having my own screen in my hand would allow me to do what I want without them knowing until I shot their asses. Same with a game like Madden, keep your plays to ...

Like the article states, they probably ended up realizing that attacking PSN was doing really bad damage to their reputation, and scaled back. but, when their other attempts (sit-ins, etc) failed, some of them decided to go at it anyway while they officially denied it to save face.

This was a very coordinated attack, and likely wa...

you say you're aware they're an open group, but then deny it's them... being an open group means that they have no real code of conduct, and splinter groups can form within them that go against the "official" stance that anon is taking. that's what I think is happening here. some of them realize that sit in boycotts aren't working, and decided hammering away at psn was the only thing that would get their attention.

after all, not a single one of ...

you get refunds when you pay for something and don't get it. you don't pay for online gaming. you don't get a refund. if it were an outage that lasted weeks or months, yes, they should refund something. but it's not like you can assign a $ amount to the time lost over 3 days of psn being down. even if you did, it'd be so small that it wouldn't be worth even a movie rental on psn.

Your argument is weak. The article was pointing out that the very nature of being anonymous means to restrict information about who you are. It's a contradiction to say that you are anonymous but protect the freedom of information.

"Sadly, this is not the kind of information that Anon is refrering when they talk about "free information". lol "

They said information, not a particular type of information. And the info they seek to share ...

That said, it's not exactly positive advertisement. They're posting negative comments on an article that is showing how Anon are a bunch of liars, that's not exactly the kind of publicity Anon would want.

I'd like to believe that, but the timing of the attack (easter weekend, along with the portal 2 and mk releases) seems rather suspicious. that, and anon even said themselves that splinter groups within them could still be attacking (which renders their claim that anon will never attack psn again worthless).

While I share your sickness with seeing the name Anonymous around here, the fact remains that we're still under attack by these fools, so we gotta spread the truth. Thank you for approving.

You also fail to take into consideration that Steam is in direct competition with Windows Live and Xbox Live as well, with it's features allowing for cross game chat, invites, etc... The competition doesn't just lie in the online store area.

Also, them putting Fable III on the steam store just means they want more sales of it. Thom hit the nail on the head. GFW's userbase is way smaller, so releasing it also on Steam only makes sense. It's no indicator that th...

"you get what you paid for" goes both ways, don't it? When you don't pay for Live, what do you get? No online gaming. None. Not when it launched, not now... at least with PSN, we've had 4 solid years (with one down day during the leap year bug) until now without interruption. And guess what, we only paid for the system itself. Talk about getting what you paid for!

We paid for a system that would allow us to play every aspect of our games that we pay full...

I actually expected a more immature response, that was handled better than I thought it would be.

Live goes down also, so they only have so much room to talk. As such, I'm glad to see they remained within that room. I was gonna hate on them when I first saw the article, but I'll leave em' alone over this one.

This is only the second time I've seen PSN go down for more than a day. The other time was that leap year bug when PSN was shut down f...

There's nothing saying that Sony and Valve aren't working behind the scenes to deploy steam system-wide. Think about it, it would instantly give Sony a tried and true platform to combat XBL that already features cross game chat/invites/etc. and also comes with the added benefit of cross platform chat/invites/etc., which would leave MS scrambling for ways to convince it's userbase that Live was still worth that $60/yr. PS3 would suddenly gain every feature that XBL users enjoy so m...
