I'm in the same boat, but after spending years swearing I'd never buy a 360 over the same thing, it still makes me want to bang my head against the wall.
I feel you 100%. I'm willing to give Sony one chance however. If they can prove to me that by paying for my online play I will get much faster service that is more reliable, I'll keep updating the + subscription I already have. If not, I'll be selling my PS4... or at the very least boycotting it's online component with one eye on upgrading the hell out of my PC.
For all we know, PC games could drop free online also.
It reminded me of Halo 3's reveal trailer... a little too much. All CG, super short, no mention of gameplay or features, just a clip that screams "we didn't have enough ready to show you, so here's a 30 second clip we paid some CG animation company to make while we finish the game.".
The difference being, however, when halo 3's teaser was shown it was the big climax of the show. MS didn't repeat that mistake this time around, it was just snuck in...
$60 to license the use of a game that I have to pay even more for if I want to play it online? No thanks.
I don't like the console, but their software is solid. There's nothing I can say about that. I'll definitely want to check out the new Killer Instinct, just for the nostalgia.
This generation for Microsoft seems more and more like last gen for Sony. A very expensive console with the promise of good games. However, Microsoft also has this nasty DRM shadow hanging over them this time, which is rumored to only get worse (supposedly more announcements regarding DRM c...
Great games shown, but you can't polish a turd. I refuse to buy a $499 box that doesn't even let me own my games.
Here we go...
Ironically I saw a redbox ad on Facebook today talking about how new games are going to be announced tomorrow, and they showed people playing an Xbox in the picture.
The BBB isn't going to give a damn about who a forum bans. Get over it.
This video looks like it was ripped from another source, recompressed 90 times, dragged through the mud, and then played back on a Sega CD. I think people should wait for a higher quality video before they start jumping to conclusions.
@greenpowerz, in both cases where you claim you were reporting people for trying to get others to bubble you down, there was no instance where anyone said "bubble this person down!" even indirectly. In one case you got called out for ...
It isn't what I'd call "terrible" graphics by any stretch of the imagination. It's a very low quality video as well (on purpose? I know youtube is capable of better than that!), so I'll join the others here who are reserving final judgment for later. I also want to see actual gameplay, not actual replay.
I'm a journalist, so I'm going to poke around Microsoft's press site and see if I can't find you guys a better quality video of this...
I've been trying to find the reasoning behind MS castrating their core gamer market the way they have been. Certainly they don't think the casuals will buy into a box to watch tv on that you have to connect the box you already watch tv on in order for it to work... Certainly they don't think that kinect is going to sell it, especially when you have TVs from LAST YEAR that do all that stuff already (see link below). The casual market isn't going to buy this stuff!

Nintendo has usually done pretty well at always turning a profit with their consoles. That is why they don't put bleeding edge tech into them, they rarely ever sell at a loss and even when they do it isn't much of one, so they profit from their consoles very quickly.
They don't have to sell 80 million to turn a profit, but at the same time they need a large install base to attract developers. Good games make a good console, so that support is needed.
Yeah, games are kinda important too. No dev support = no games.
Those don't appear to be dual shock 4 controllers they are holding, I can't see the light bar anywhere.
We may not have to wait for launch, any direct feed video is good enough for the pixel counters at b3d to be able to tell what the native resolution is, as long as it isn't a bullshot and is actual direct feed of the game being played.
Not that a few pixels in difference is going to make this any better or worse of a game, but for tech junkies like myself it's still interesting to see what the hardware can and cannot do.
looking at specs, I have little doubt Xbone can handle a 1080p game, however I do have to ask... "Is this native 1080p, or upscaled?".
GT5 claimed 1080p as well, but upscaled from a lower resolution between 720 and 1080p to pull that off. That said, the devs didn't try to hide that fact. Many games this generation were upscaled. the call of duty games didn't even run in HD natively, but were upscaled from a sub-HD resolution to 720p.
I always hated Hayter's snake voice (I'm sure the vast majority disagres). It always sounded forced to me, like he was trying a little too hard to sound tough.
I can confirm I have never seen this in practice. While I did get showered with gifts and free all expenses paid trips to New York, L.A., Vegas, etc. to attend press events (a common industry practice used by all), I never got cash outright from any publisher or developer. Not saying it has never happened, but I haven't personally observed it.
Spike not airing Sony is due to Sony having their conference during prime time. No network is going to change their prime time pro...
It is in the sense that Sony has always been a champion of free online play. That's where the biggest disappointment comes from. I don't disagree that + is way more than worth the price. However, as someone who bashed live for 7 years for this reason, it's hard for me to not be a little upset about it.
