The headline is misleading. He said "Naturally we’re very excited now seeing consoles that actually close in on what the PCs of today can do...", meaning there won't be much difference between the PC and console versions. He then goes on to say that (naturally) PC will gain an edge on the consoles "as time goes on". That is to be expected.
The real meat of his statement is the acknowledgement that the PS4's tech advantages don't just exist &quo...
Nobody is promoting the consumption. It's an option for those who choose to do it in the game. You don't have "eat the pill for slow mo super powers!" ads thrown in your face in Vice City. It's just an optional power up.
Not only that, but there is nothing wrong with promoting it's use. It's the only crime committed in the game that has no victim, and it isn't even a crime in all states/countries (including the one the game is set in, where h...
Those saying this is not what was proposed on XB1 have it wrong, somewhat. You can use another account to play games you download on PSN. Any account you want, in addition to your own. You have 2 licenses at any given time with every copy of your games. You take one, and you can give a friend the other. You two can play against each other in most games. However, you must deactivate friend #1's copy before you can let friend #2 download it. They do have to sign in under your account initia...
I can already access my digital library from any PS3 in the world, I just have to deactivate the game from one friend's PS3 before I can install it on another. The only difference here, Sony lets you play as you install on PS4, so it'll make it much more practical. And to the fools trying to say "You have to be always online!". No. You don't. You only have to be online while the game is downloading. After it installs, it's yours to take offline if you choose. PSN alr...
Pot may suck to you, but it is great to millions of others, and it shouldn't matter to you whether or not you can walk into a medical shop and get high in a game, as long as it is completely optional (as the drug use in all GTA games up until now has been).
If you don't like pot, spend your time in the game beating cops and killing prostitutes.
Drug use has been a part of the GTA games since long before saint's row had ever even been heard of. Tommy was popping pills back on the PS2.
My only logical explanation is that these fanboys bought into the MS spin about their DRM so hard that when even MS was forced to change their ways, their little delusion was shattered and now they're running around confused and asking why.
The power to overuse lens flare and smear dust and dirt all over the "camera lens". BF3 was ruined for me by these cheap visual effects, and BF4 looks to continue the tradition. That gameplay demo video they put out a while back was plagued with it. Clean your damn camera already! Have you ever watched a movie that made you view 80% of it through a dirty lens?
I love the rest of oddworld's games, so glad to finally be able to play this one.
This is due to Xbone's split memory. The devs have to work out how to break their GPU memory that needs high bandwidth into 32mb chunks so it can fit into ESRAM. This is one of the same things that held PS3 back on multiplatform titles.
Some polls may be wrong, but all indications show that the ones in regards to Xbox One and PS4 are accurate. Presale trends seem to back the overwhelming support in the polls.
Mike, you are trying (desperately) to downplay a rather large performance advantage that PS4 enjoys. You continually keep ignoring the GPU advantage and only focus on the RAM (which is a big advantage in itself). Yes, the RAM has 150% more bandwidth on PS4. Yes, it is all one unified pool that makes programming far easier. However, there are also twice as many ROPS, and 50% more compute units in PS4's GPU, in addition to having 4 CUs that are specialized to aid in compute functions and a ...
The Xbox fans of today sound like the Nintendo fans of 2006.
And, even with PS+, that PS4 is delivering about 5-10x the raw power and a MUCH better online system than Wii U, so it isn't just about raw price but also the value. Bang for your buck favors PS4 by a long shot.

I always love it when my intelligence gets insulted in the same sentence that someone misspells a word.
I'm talking about what he literally said. They go on and on about painstakingly recreating the perfect engine sounds, making them sound good in any environment, and then go on to say they achieve that by mixing in sounds of lions roaring and dudes screaming.
In other words, "Who cares about delivering authentic engine sounds and making you hear what you'd actually hear on the track. Here's a lion roar mixed with a guy screaming with a little reverb and pitch shift added every time you hit the accelerator!".
Brought to you by Mountain Dew and Doritos.
For the few people that care to play those games. That is the main issue with MS' policy, it prevents them from giving people games that are still relevant. So rather than being able to play games that are only 6 months to a year old, you get the bargain bin classics instead.
At least they're kinda trying...
Don Mattrick's problem is that he was out of touch with the core gamer world. This is why he had such an interest in outfits like Zynga, even attempting to buy them before he went on to chair them. That is what he views as the future of video games. Cheap, family friendly, easy to play mini-games. This is why we saw the Xbox 360 abandon it's core crowd and focus on kinect, and this is what has been woven into the fabric of Xbox One's design as well with the mandatory Kinect integr...
