Fanboys crying that would-be PS4 owners now want TV function... there's a difference between an HDMI port on your console that you have to plug a pre-existing cable box (if compatible) into vs. an online tv service that replaces your cable box.
It's apples to oranges. A Paywalled HDMI input with a cable guide is not the same as a standalone internet TV service.
The rumors for a while now have been stating that it has to do with the ESRAM. To give a little background, XB1's RAM is has less bandwidth than PS4's by over 150%. To bridge the gap, they included a little 32mb chunk of really fast memory on the GPU die called ESRAM. It helps to bridge the memory bandwidth gap a little bit between XB1 and PS4. However, this is the first time a consumer product has been released that had that much on-die RAM, and it apparently has been suffering from ...
They said the same thing about dropping DRM.
That's my system with half the RAM and a much better GPU setup.
Importing will be very difficult if their yields are not at the level where they can launch in all those markets at once. Supplies will likely be tight for a while after launch until they get it all sorted out.
Looks like those ESRAM yield rumors are starting to come true. Localization should not have been an issue for the company that would cause such a massive delay.
I'll wait on a next gen port... being that this game is made with current gen in mind, I seriously doubt there will be anything in the PC version that the PS4 couldn't handle with ease. Plus I'll have the comfort of being able to play in my living room, since I don't want a large and noisy gaming rig sitting under my TV.
Oculus Rift. It was the logical progression of 3D technology, as glasses free 3D sucks and has limited viewing area, and even shutter based 3D still had ghosting issues. The tech just wasn't quite ready, though I admit I still game in 3D on my TV... and do think that it adds to the experience. Definitely in driving games where I can use my depth perception better.
This is so stupid. Microsoft could be like "Just kidding. All DRM and Kinect requirement is back." and there would be another article criticizing them for that tomorrow with a thousand fanboys foaming at the mouth in the comment section.
Hmm... judging by EVERY online poll ever conducted asking who was going to buy PS4 or XB1, they have about 75-90% of the people left to convince still.

There aren't any true F2p games on Xbox One. You can't even surf internet explorer without paying for Live Gold. And yes, AA batteries suck. Lithium-ion gives you far more play time, and they can be recharged thousands of times before they have to be replaced (which Sony will do free of charge, as they do with the PS3 controller batteries).
Stop your using N4G as a soap box to tell other gamers what to do, as if you have any sort of authority over them just because you or someone you know bought a domain name and decided to make a gaming site.
"Why you should buy this product." "10 reasons why that game system you hate doesn't suck." "Why (insert positive/negative news about game/console here) doesn't matter." "How this game system is going to outsell that game system,...
That's the only hurdle holding me back now that they've dropped kinect, price. It's far too expensive for inferior hardware. If MS can hit the $400 (preferably $350) sweet spot, I'll consider jumping on board if the games justify the purchase.
However, I will still have to spend some time mulling over if I want to support the company that tried shoving DRM down all of our throats, but hey, one can never recover from a mistake if not ever given the chance to re...
I do video projection mapping for a living, which is essentially all illumiroom is... interactive video projection mapping. One reason why you may want to use this is, most affordable (as in sub $5,000) projectors will not give you a solid 1080p resolution and a brightness that can come anywhere near close to what a flatscreen TV can give you. Therefore, the main portion of your image, where most of the gameplay occurs, is bright and high res. You then can get away with an affordable 1080p pr...
Microsoft has gone from banning you from using half of your game (multiplayer) unless you pay for it to banning you from using half of your console unless you pay for it. Sony jumped on the multiplayer paywall bandwagon as well, but at least the rest of the service remains free. You can still watch netflix, surf the net, and even play free to play games free.
I was hoping microsoft's foot-shooting was over, as it was turning from funny to tragic, but they've picked it...
I'll play Metal Gear on my NES.
Because those who actually own high end rigs make up a tiny fraction of the total gamers out there.
"Today, those numbers swell to 23 as Sony, ST-Ericsson and STMicroelectronics joined up as contributors to the Foundation. "
Let's just ignore reality and then make some stuff up. Keep the fail rolling, it's getting hilarious.
Without a delay, there simply is not enough time to make a drastic upgrade to the hardware (which means redesigning the architecture, creating new devkits and drivers to take advantage of it, and getting those tools in the hands of developers who then have to take the time to upgrade their games as much as possible before launch, if it is possible at all). Not only do they have to get the hardware built and delivered, but it must also go through rigorous testing to ensure it can hold up to th...
@pedro, the vita does have a front and back touch screen that L2/R2/L3/R3 could easily be mapped to.
Disney and Time Warner are reportedly also in talks with Sony. No telling who else they've approached. They also own a massive chunk of the entertainment biz already, so they have a massive advantage over Microsoft there.
This is just the TV portion of Sony, not counting movies and music.
