Too laggy, but getting there.

"Isn't quite there yet." - The company that released the Virtua Boy has no room to talk there... and judging by the reactions of the hundreds who have tried morpheus and those who have purchased the Oculus devkits, I think they stand alone with that opinion.

They just know Wii U isn't powerful enough to do VR... 3D at 60fps at HD resolutions isn't easy for any console to do.

Do realistic looking worlds immerse us more into the game we're playing? Or even lack of distractions like low resolution, blurry textures or flickering, jagged edges make even non-realistic looking games look worse?

I agree, when you judge the conferences by content instead of entertainment value, Sony definitely had more surprises and (IMO) a better showing of games. In addition to showing fewer games I was interested in, MS showed way too many CG trailers. I think Sony showed one that I can remember.

However, if you want to judge them by entertainment value, MS definitely did better than Sony. Sony made their conference too long to squeeze 30 minutes of crap we didn't care to hear ...

The added detail can still be apparent even with cartoony visuals. Most won't care, but for those with larger TVs and good eyesight, it'll be noticeable.

The game still looks cool... typical Insomniac fare, but just original enough to keep my attention.

I hope Doom 4 brings back that type of level design that the old Doom games had. Doom 3 just felt too different... I missed having massive wide-open levels with puzzles and hordes of enemies coming at me from all angles.

This game definitely isn't much of a looker... Looks more last gen than anything. The animations for the characters are very stiff, and overall the game's look just doesn't scream next gen to me.

That said, the gameplay is pretty solid so far from what I've played.

Don can't do anything right, can he? At least he landed a good paying gig. Maybe he's another Nokia-like plant? Maybe Zynga will go belly-up and MS will buy them, then rehire Mattrick and make Xbox One require an online connection again (they already are... it's called "the cloud").

^says the guy spreading misinformation with a ping too slow to support 60fps gameplay... Remember, 16ms per frame including server calc time...

Sad so many lose sight of the fact that having an internet connection does not equal having a good enough internet connection to take advantage of features like this which require latencies far lower than most people have...

95% connected PS4s do not equal 95% able to use cloud processing.

Assuming you stay locked at that 25ms ping, the best you could hope for is 30fps using cloud aided rendering. A frame is drawn every 33.33ms at 30fps. Don't forget you have to allow time for the server on the other side to process that data before it can be sent back also, and some things have to be done before other processes can happen in the rendering process, so even that 30fps is questionable at your ping.

@Mhunterjr

The reason why latency and bandwidth isn't where it needs to be is because at 60 frames per second, you have 16.66ms per frame to complete the calculations needed for the frame so the GPU can render the frame. Very few places in the world have that kind of latency with their internet connections. Me pinging google from my 24mbps Uverse connection brings up a 36ms ping (not even good enough to do 30fps), and many people have worse connections than I do. This isn...

I'll believe this when I see it running on real world connections. By the time latencies and bandwidths are where they need to be in the real world for this tech to be feasible, you'd be better off with full-on cloud gaming. In both cases you still have to be connected to the cloud for the game to work as it was meant to.

Until I see real world benefits in action on real world internet connections, and see that things are being accomplished that cannot be done by any ...

Then confirmed it was running in real time on a PS4... But some fanboys still can't believe their eyes.

The fact is, any insider can and will be wrong. Plans change, and any info that can be leaked is vulnerable to those changes. Even in the case of Thuway, there very well could have been behind closed doors demoes of Uncharted that got axed at the last minute for technical reasons, or just to get rid of Thuway because they were tired of the leaks.

Given ND's track record of closely matching in-game models to cutscene, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Considering how much farther in-game cameras are from characters, you can get away with a little reduction and still have the same visual look. Only players who specifically try to manipulate the camera into an angle where it can be noticed will actually see the difference.

There's a difference between showing a game that is multiplatform running on PC (one of its platforms) vs. showing a game that is supposed to be exclusive to one console only running on a PC.
