Not to mention it isn't as powerful. 4GB of DDR3, a dual core CPU... this thing would choke running most PS4 games at PS4 resolutions. It takes more than a good GPU to do that. As a complete system, PS4's specs stomp this one.
"Can run games like Titanfall" ... A cross gen game that's next gen version was barely better looking than the 360 version... Great place to start your comparisons. Lets see this thing run Driveclub, P.T., Uncharted, The Order: 1886, etc. at comparable framerates and resolutions... without setting anything on fire or killing anyone.
Only 633,600 pixels per frame difference, on average, along with better frame rates, but who's counting... right?
Just wait... now millions of unsuspecting perverts will be caught wanking, and won't even know it because they can't see or hear who just walked into the room.
In the video they say they are restoring the original FMV cutscenes using the source material from all those years ago before it was compressed for the CD. So, you're getting the same resolution video, but with much more modernized compression techniques to get rid of the macro-blocking and color banding. They then are upscaling that to 1080p (which your TV would have probably done anyway, it doesn't add detail). The real time rendered scenes would get the 1080p upgrade... however eve...
"Cellmate's **** ON YA FOREHEAD!!!"
You can tell this is a passion project that they've really been wanting to do. It'll of course still be lower resolution than HD (the cutscenes), as the original source material is likely 640/720x480. However, it'll definitely be better than the original.
What would have been really awesome is if they had the actual project files from their CG renderer, so they could actually re-export the original scenes at a higher resolution.
Neither were hacked. DDoS attack does not equal hack. No security was broken, they just overwhelmed the servers with requests.
As a result, they are also plagued with far more issues. Some games run on better brands of video cards than others, some better on some CPUs than others, some GPUs have compatibility issues with some games, these are not issues I want to see come to consoles. That is why I game on a console. Simplicity and cost effectiveness.
Very cool, though I think Nintendo has a naming problem lately. They didn't learn their lesson from Wii U? People got confused, and thought it was still the same old Wii. It should not be called 3DS anything, it needs to be rebranded so it will stand out.
As long as both games ran at the same framerate, maybe. If not, PS4 fans would have an unfair advantage.
Typical GamingDolt trollbait.
This is just... sad. The bots are getting desperate.
'cept Shu said it isn't ready to show yet.
UE4 probably wasn't ready in time for them.
@Andrew, the prototypes Sony has been showing have all been connected to a TV. Morpheus plugs into a breakout box that connects to the PS4. The breakout box has an extra HDMI output on it that you connect to your TV. There was never a "high powered PC" doing the secondary display, just a little black box with an HDMI out. The only processing the box has to do is only sending one eye's output to the TV to display, and it also provides the image distortion to the morpheus headset ...
I don't know, I've been playing some of the most innovative games ever on PS4, especially the indie titles.
I haven't heard of that box being used for anything other than sending the signal to the TV, but if it does upscale the framerate it likely works the same way the 120-600hz TVs do, by interpolating frames.
Developers craft the experience, and the point of view isn't going to make every game the same just because you're viewing it through a visor.
1. The video is obviously poorly upscaled from a lower resolution, or poorly downscaled to fit both frames in, one or the other. all edges are jaggy and low res.
2. This is a cross gen game whose next gen versions barely differ from the last gen. This isn't much to speak of, especially since both are so similar.
