My batteries do just fine.. and I didn't have to pay extra to be able to recharge them.
As much as I love GT, it has allowed itself to stagnate in recent years, with too much attention focused on the wrong areas. We still haven't gotten out of the whole "standard" vs. "premium" car mess, and that doesn't look to change anytime soon. Padding the game with unfinished content and obsessing over modeling the visuals of the rest of them to the point of ignoring innovations in other very important areas (like the above mentioned accurate modeling of bumps o...
"The visuals you're complaining about look awesome!" isn't a way to sell people on the visuals. You can't just deny that people's complaints are invalid when it comes to something as subjective as how beautiful or realistic looking a game is. It's like they're trying a jedi mind trick on the gamers... "There's aren't the droids you are looking for."
I personally don't think it looks terrible, but the jerky animation defi...
'cept the wii fell flat on its face not long after, which is what happens when you release a cheap, underpowered system to compete against systems built to be far more future proof. It doesn't have the legs to keep up. Also, people quickly dropped the motion control fad, which only further accelerated its demise.
Except they're not making a game. They're making the engine that will be used to run many different games. So, of course they're going to talk about the tech end of it and not the gameplay, as there is no gameplay to talk about at this point. They haven't made games for this particular engine.
The GDDR5 in PS4 is quite common in PC graphics cards, it's the rest of the guts that matter at this point. While PS4's GPU is no slouch, when you stack it up against 4 titan X's SLI'ed together, it doesn't even start to hold a candle to it. PS4 would have to cut some serious corners to be able to run this... Xbox One even more. You have to pay attention to the other factors, like the number of graphics cores available, the number of texture units, the number of render out...
Game engines are what handle the tech end of things, so of course they are going to focus on graphics when promoting the engine. When promoting the game itself, then you'd have a valid point to complain about them focusing on graphics alone.
And since there are so few people out there actually able to run this, it'll be a while before they invest the budget needed to hit these levels of visuals in an actual game.
The visuals wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the jerky animation.
I know I stand among the ultra-minority in this opinion, but I've never been a fan of Hayter's snake voice.
@rain, so good to see someone else who knows what's up.
Unfortunately, the way our internet is structured, it may be decades before we reach a point where internet latency can keep up with the demands of TODAY'S graphics hardware in order to enable cloud processing of graphics elements. You can get away with a few things, like some types of lighting, using cloud compute, but even then you see obvious artifacts or errors, such as a light source moving but the light and...
Microsoft has lost billions of dollars on the Xbox brand as a whole, it has never turned a profit. There is no way in hell that their shareholders would even think of allowing them to dump billions more into ONE GAME. Especially one game from a franchise that hasn't generated billions of dollars.
If you buy this rumor, go ahead and grab the nearest sharpie and write "SUCKER" in bold letters on your forehead.

@GMR, Bloodborne, while a spiritual successor to the souls series, is technically a new IP. The majority of "average joe" gamers do not know of its association to the souls games, and the souls games were never heavy sellers. The other 2 games are sequels to well established franchises, especially Batman, which has been a big seller since the first arkham game.
I called it...
The way driveclub applies physics to each rain drop, so that as you turn the rain sloshes around on your windshield and side windows, is simply amazing. So is going into photo mode and seeing every leaf on every plant also getting wet.
Will cost more than a console... and has a limited field of view. I think this tech needs more time to mature.
They are a very small team, and a flood has already wiped out much of this game's development once, and they kept at it anyway. With all the hype around this game, Sony wouldn't let it slip through the cracks. Look at how long they've dragged TLG around despite all the issues its development has had.
I don't have a 4k TV. I don't plan on upgrading for a couple more years at least. I'm good for now.
And GT7 will "wipe the floor" with forza 6, if you want to compare games that haven't even been shown running in real time yet.
well, i'd like to believe this, but we know polyphony isn't shy about delaying a game.
