That one of them often doesn't?
Don't forget, "winning" to them is only winning in America. They'll gladly ignore the rest of the planet just so they can brag about NPD to their shareholders.
^good to see someone here knows what they're talking about.
"Full HD" is 1080p, nothing more, nothing less.
Ultra HD is 4K (the at-home 16:9 version of 4K), or the full 4k resolution being known as "Cinema 4K" among other names.
@shloobmm3, The thing is, PS4 is hitting the same fidelity, but at 1080p. If the system can display the developer's vision at any given resolution without compromising it, all the better.
When you have an unimpressive looking game that runs badly, and 99 others that look and run better, do you chalk it up to the console or the developer? And that's assuming gamingdolt's analysis is even correct.
I'm talking about if the headset were wireless. Also, since 16ms is 60fps, there technically is a TINY amount of lag, (morpheus displays at 90fps), but not enough to be noticeable.
and a lower framerate. You aren't sending 1080p at 90fps reliably without wires.
Batteries are the least of your worries... Puking your guts out due to lag generated by the extra latency from having to send the signal wirelessly, in addition to bandwidth and latency killing the ability to have high enough frame rates is what you'd get with wireless.
That $600 console was still outselling its competition, and even though it never caught up to the Wii, it is still selling today while Wii is not.
I've always had a super powerful PC, as I do video production, but you always get console level graphics just cleaner and sharper. It isn't until the end of the generation where you start to see games where "that just couldn't even be done on any console"... tesselation and other DX11/12 features were what separated the last gen consoles from this gen, in addition to raw power. It'll be a little while before PC's are offering features like that which just can'...
Resolution NEVER allows ALL graphics features to stay intact. You ALWAYS have to make a sacrifice of hitting your target resolution or going lower and being able to throw more at the screen. That is a major part of game development, deciding where you want to settle for the look you're trying to achieve.
For instance, Driveclub is currently the king of racing game graphics. However, they could have halved the resolution and doubled the frame rate (well, it doesn't sc...
@Bigpappy, I'd still say Driveclub, which is 1080p.
Why, in this age of the internet, would anyone pay money for information that can be had for free online?
Photoshop tutorial videos... does adobe deserve a cut? Or will that video encourage more people to want to learn their software leading to increased sales?
Should you have to pay Activision every time you stream Destiny from your PS4? How far does this go?
"I won't play this game, no matter how many people say they are enjoying it, because they won't give it away for free."
9+ critical darling? What a load of crap. There isn't a game out there that gets such critical praise, as there are always a handful of fansites and biased outlets that will trash even the best game just for clicks.
@XBL,your point falls flat on its face when you factor in that the game does not require any actual upscaling at all, and this person CHOSE to hook it up to a monitor that upscales it to a higher resolution (because the monitor kinda has to in order to fill all those extra pixels). Unlike those 3/4 of Xbox One AAA games that force you to upscale your game on any 1080p TV before the image even leaves the console.
Nice try, but you fail. Again.
GTAV is the fifth installment (canonical) of a MAJOR worldwide AAA franchise that has been selling billions of dollars worth of product for decades.
GTA1 didn't do anywhere near as well as Destiny did. Both were new IP. So, where will Destiny be by its 5th installment?
He clearly states it has crummy bandwidth, which it does. That is no secret. He then specifies that he isn't sure if the task they are talking about is going to be bottlenecked by bandwidth or not (not all tasks require lots of bandwidth). So, the headline isn't exactly misleading, though they did purposely call out the one negative thing he said for click bait purposes.
With many games using motion capture in addition to voice acting, that is a moot point. Look at Uncharted, fully acted out motion-captured cutscenes in addition to voice overs.
I do agree that hiring a big name actor could be a waste, but if they're perfect for the part, they're perfect for the part. As long as it contributes to the game in a meaningful way, I'm not against it.
Even then, still take with a grain of salt.
