It's likely to be $200+, but you need to consider the potential.

If Battlefield 3 shipped with the optimal PC graphics card it would be a stroke of genius.

Exactly. Why is everyone taking this seriously? Read the goddamn website url.

I'm sincerely hoping this is fake and I think it is. I mean what were they thinking with Covert? It's like Ghost with the added bonus of no kill cam? Combined with something like Infiltrator you become nearly impossible to stop.

Reflexes doesn't make much sense. It's first feature is to knife quicker? The knife is super quick already and it wouldn't make any conceivable difference if it was sped up. Maybe they mean quicker recovery from knife animation? <...

My computer virtually started weeping when they showed the destruction. Good lord.

I think this begs the question,

WHAT THE HELL ARE THOSE ANIMALS DOING AT A TRAIN STATION?

Amazing.

This is definitely a day 83 bargain bin purchase.

Puts Deadly Premonition to shame.

"Russell had already turned in a script, but it was a script so long and so ambitious that it was at least partly responsible for the studio and him parting ways, according to two people familiar with the situation who were not authorized to talk about it publicly."

What? Don't make it lengthy or ambitious! The fans don't want that!

Jesus Christ...

@cgood, A fair assessment, but consider Werner Herzog's adaptation of the original film Bad Lieutenant. Many were up in arms about that, especially after Herzog admitted to having never even seeing the original. He made a film that was almost as good, albeit with a different tone and feel.

The members here assume that directors should have played the game before making the film. I'm trying to tell them unequivocally, that none of them do. Paul W.S. Anderson gets gamer...

I can see the hatred for Wahlberg and he probably wasn't right for the role, but some of the best performances he has given have been in Russell's films (Three Kings, I Heart Huckabees, The Fighter).

As for the "family dynamic", I would have liked to learn more about it. People have to consider the fact that no one was even confirmed for any role in the film, the script was still being drafted etc. and we didn't really get a grasp of what that really mea...

Ugh, the hatred for David O. Russell on this board will never make sense to me. It's because very, very few members here ACTUALLY understand film, or the film-making process. The opportunity for a talented, visionary director to make this film has now gone. They'll probably get Paul W.S. Anderson to make it and it will be decidedly mediocre. People were worried about him making changes for the film adaptation? Ridiculous. Why would you want the exact same thing from the game on the bi...

I like both the Duelshock and the 360 controller. If I had it my way I'd combine elements of each. It's entirely personal preference, but I like the right concave stick and triggers on the 360 controller and would probably place that on the Duelshock to make the best possible controller for my hands.

I only just bought my 360 last year with Reach. Using the controller for the first time after years of playstationing gave me serious monkey grip :p

It's interesting that Kato's quote clashes with Hirai's. It could be a foreshadowing towards something other than a console. Neither of them actually allude to a "console" system. Maybe it's something else? A bigger step towards digital distribution?

What more can be said about this game? It's absolutely essential.

I'm hoping the Dark Souls sales are competitive with Skyrim. At least it gets the leg-up by being released a month early.

It's entirely up to the player to decide how much expectation they place on Duke Nukem. I haven't been holding out for it, nor do I think it will be close to game of the year, but a fun diversion is all it needs to be. If it remains faithful to the saga, then that's all I can ask.

I could barely compute the irony of doomsday happening before this game is released. Duke would have never seen the light of day.

Thank you for holding off Jesus.

Exactly, Battlefield 3 and Witcher 2 are virtually next-gen games, but id have also built for the future with its engine capabilities and incredible AI. The posters here are looking at these games based on "face value", id future proofs their work.

None of those you mentioned are open world games.

Why do people make a concerted effort to shun this game? id have been working on this for ages to deliver a solid game, John Carmack has been behind it the entire time. Of course it won't be as good as the PC version, is that stopping it from being a technical achievement in its own right? Certainly not.

It was a pointless comparison designed to bring the naysayer's out in droves. Both games are good, both appeal to different sensibilities.

I'm actually surprised MW3 looks as good as it does with its engine. It was never even about graphics for the series. People like it because it runs at 60fps. It's difficult to produce a game on console that looks relatively slick AND run at the level.

Battlefield 3 will satisfy me on PC. Modern Warfare 3 will ...

I agree with this, more so than most games. L.A. Noire, like Heavy Rain, is intended for an adult audience. As such they should come under the R18+ rating in Australia. These games aren't "mature" in the traditional sense, but are mature because the themes are adult related.

I'm hoping more games like this are released to prove to naysayer's that games like L.A. Noire can be appreciated by many who don't even play games above the age of 18. It's ...
