Minimum of 4 deaths in a row balances it out a little more. There are no painkiller annoyances at least and Martyrdom was fairly well handled in MW2 (aside from most things).
Juiced sounds like fun. The Machinima director Hutch said it's like Lightweight x2 for 7 seconds. I know after I have a few deaths I really want to get straight back into the battle. Sounds like the best way to do so.
They're all virtually on the same plain of craptitude.
Another reason why video-games and films should remain separated. They are different forms of visual expression, which is why it's difficult for games to be translated in to film and vice versa.
Nice argument there. Don't worry, your mother packed your lunch, feel free to leave for elementary school at any time.
I'm puzzled by the reaction to Global Offensive. Most people are completely under-whelmed. The game isn't absolutely mind-blowingly pretty, but it looks serviceable in a Left 4 Dead kind of way. The beauty of a game like this is that it's accessible to most PC players, as has been the case for many, if not all of Valves games.
Regardless, we haven't even had the chance to play it. If they strike a balance between 1.6 and Source, then I'll surely be putting...
In all honesty I had to pull up the PC version just to realise that it was HUDless. Truly a great feat.
I'm sick of this assumption that people that play Call of Duty don't have an intellect, or have a limited palette when it comes to playing different games. Yes, criticism is due in certain areas, hell, it's difficult not to spot problems when millions are playing it on a daily basis, but the constant barrage of arguments take the 'cookie-cutter' mantle before any amount of CoD releases.
The game sells huge because of its relative accessibility, we all know...
I was in the same boat, especially when Assassin's Creed II was about to come out. I despised the first game and still do, but I truly love the follow up games enough to consider myself a fan of the series. They really stepped up for II and Brotherhood, don't miss out on them.
This could well have been one of the initial concepts for Portal 2 that Kim Swift offered. In 'The Final Hours' article on steam they mention a game idea that just didn't quite fit in the Portal universe. Gabe goes on to mention that it might become another game.
I digress, this looks awesome.
I'm still waiting on my PS3 copy in the mail. I'll be sure to pick up the PC version after I've finished it on console.
There was a video comparison a while ago where I thought there were less effective anti-aliasing techniques used on the PS3 version. Cue a heap of disagrees from some of the more touchy N4G members (95% of this place).
Sanity prevails.
Uncharted is a great series and a fantastic game altogether, but it ain't perfect. I must have played through Uncharted 2's campaign 5 times or more, to the extent that I nitpick every detail, from the games pacing to the perceptive use of "in-game" cinematics. I think he is addressing Uncharted to some extent, not as the problem, but as the blueprint for many developers to water-down their product, thus creating a cinematic game that holds the hand of the player.

People should read quotes carefully after seeing misleading titles. "ARGUABLY" plays a big role.
This is a great series by Gametrailers, almost as good as Pop Fiction. More people should be watching them.
I do like the Halo/Borderlands system. I still hold a place in my heart for health packs. Of some of the more recent games, I really liked Metro 2033's use of the pack, it felt desperate every time you had to pull it out. Another system I loved was Far Cry 2's stimpack recovery. Say what you will about the game, it was still completely engrossing when you had to snap a bone back into place or remove a bullet from your leg. Wonderful stuff.
Kanye West the human being is pretty much a gigantic douche bag at any given time, but I wouldn't discount his artistic credibility. He's one of the most forward-thinking hip-hop producers alive and regardless of what you think of the genre, you can't deny his ambition and drive to create new sounds and new material.
Then there is this perceived notion that hip-hop is flashy bullshit like cars and bitches and money. While Top 40 hits will probably tell you that, h...
I'm not sure if it's the video compression, but the 360 version seems to have a little bit of AA at work while the PS3 doesn't. I'm no expert, so feel free to call me out on that. Both versions are indistinguishable otherwise.
My ideal controller fits somewhere between the PS3 and 360. I love both, but neither are quite perfect. I might check them out for quality before I make any final decision, but I do like their custom options.
Not sure why they would mention Resistance 3 when the X11's only have mic capabilities on the 360.
I bought a pair earlier in the year and I have no doubt that they are some of the best, moderately-priced gaming headsets on the market.
Oh man, you must. Penumbra was great, brings back plenty of memories, but Amnesia is on another level. Frictional deserve every good fortune they get. Despite the controversy surrounding Valve's "potato-sack" idea, I'm glad it came good for so many small developers.
Vahn said the playlist would be added soon. I don't mind Ghost as much as Second Chance, but this is still a great idea. The problem with Black Ops as a whole is that the game loses flow when there are too many Ghost or Second Chance players. In general, it's slower than most Call of Duties.
Ahhh the G18's were so much fun. With the SPAS-12 and shotguns in general as primaries, I think I've found one of my favourite rushing combo's already.
