They needed to plug this article with new console talk and Black Ops 2 for hits, but they're obviously implying that Black Ops will be on either the Wii-U, the Vita or both.
I'm glad that the rag-doll affect is back. Dodge rolling over corpses sometimes pulls them over your shoulder.
They seem fairly even in this case. I'm glad that the 360 version can be enjoyed on the same level. This game deserves a big audience.
Nice article. I agree with it to a big extent. The Battlefield games have become a far more serious item in recent years. It's still fun, but it's a different kind of fun. The shenanigans and creativity of the first few games were lost in favour of a more tactical and dangerous Battlefield.
It really reflects the state of the gaming community. Shooters are now treated competitively, to the point where players are constantly protecting kill/death ratio's and big nu...
@MeatAbstract. Fair enough, I can understand if you don't like Jim Sterling. I'm also of the opinion that he's an ass, but I can't discount the fact that he has an important voice for gaming.
Wow, did anyone read gumchewinasskikr's reply?
"I don't get why people give reviewers a pass all time and let them hide behind the excuse theat reviews are opinions. They are NOT opinions. THese people get paid to play games and give their fa...
What a surprise, they'll bring out the disagrees like candy, but they can't actually reply with a legitimate argument supporting themselves.
Rofl, if they aren't blaming Jim Sterling, they're blaming Destructoid as a whole. Some kids need to look up the definition of opinion, especially considering this critic has plugged 90 hours, and the posters here have played next to nothing. If you enjoy the game and are going to pick it up anyway, then who cares? It's as if they are being physically assaulted every time the metacritic fluctuates. Dark Souls has been getting good reviews, it will also get a few okay reviews, beca...
He was highlighting the fact that Deadly Premonition, despite its overwhelming awful design, is actually completely unique and unlike any other game ever made. Taking him seriously on that review is supremely ironic, given the fact that he didn't take it seriously. Giving Deadly Premonition a 10 gave the game the massive exposure it deserved. Just because it isn't the same grey, hand-holding Triple-A title churned out every month, it doesn't mean it isn't worth experiencing. ...
In your opinion of course, because everyone has one.
There wasn't a moment during this review where I thought the score was unjustified. Sterling raises legitimate criticism levelled at the game and provides a score to fit the description. I might not end up agreeing with his thoughts, in fact I rarely do, but his score is reminiscent of his complaints and praise.
There is this underlying thought with gamers that Jim Sterling is somehow trolling people. His score process is obviously different to the sugar-coated "fai...
Can no one else see what Dice are doing with this beta? Alright let me educate.
They've chosen old beta code for a specific reason. That is, to identify possible hackers, where they come from and how to contend with it when the main game is released. It also identifies players that like to exploit glitches and problems every time they enter the game, thus keeping tabs on said player to possibly ban them in the future.
Now to the obvious. This is not a dem...
Say what you will about Edge's score policy, this review was superbly written and details to a tee the sheer difficulty and breadth that this game has.
What was wrong with the review? I thought it was pretty concise and to-the-point given its short length.
I remember playing the Bloody Roar demo on the original Playstation.
I kept turning into my power animal and I didn't really understand what the hell was going on, but it was badass.
It's an opinion. Jesus Christ. You might think 9.5 is deserving for Red Dead Redemption. Not everyone on the planet agrees with you, but you're entitled to it as much as Eurogamer is.
Really? 4 disagrees? This site's community is a joke.
People that compare this Beta code to PS3 exclusives are insanely silly. Do I really need to mention the fact that Uncharted 2/3 has been optimized over a 2 year development cycle to get the best out of ONE console? Battlefield 3 has to be developed one one format and then squeezed onto two smaller consoles. By my count that's 3 different platforms to contend with.
Do the math.
That is logic right there folks.
This is old code, probably from around June. They aren't so much testing for bugs as they are pinpointing server capacity, weapon balance and most importantly THE PLAYERS THAT FIND/SEE GLITCHES AND EXPLOIT THEM. Read that last one back. It's a deliberate attempt to see what kind of players utilize a bug in a cheap way. That's what they're identifying people.
With that said, hate the player, not the game.
When Eurogamer or any other website gives R3 a 7 or 8, it's biased. When Official Playstation Magazine gives it an 8, no one actually cares.
Remember everyone complaining about the 8's given to Gears of War 3? No? Neither do I. People just bought the game and enjoyed it.
Anyone complaining about the visuals does not play online games often enough to justify that argument. The single player campaign is the area that's being graphically lauded. There is always a downgrade when moving into multiplayer. Not to mention the fact that this is obviously BETA CODE FROM JUNE.
I'm not sure if you're talking about the PC version or console either, but if you're seriously complaining about the console versions visuals, then may God have me...
I've been looking over my K/D ratio for the last 3 years in competitive shooters, and I couldn't be happier with the removal of it. It's ingrained in my sub-conscious, I've always felt the need to look after that stat and I'm sure many more would feel that way. It's such a sought-after statistic to measure player capability, and while it does give you an idea of your skill, it ignores a host of team-based objective criteria, which is probably the most important thing. ...
