Where does that put me as a JRPG fan then? I played a massive number of games outside of Squaresoft and Enix long before they merged and beyond. I doubt even many of the haters even played the "true" Final Fantasy follow-up, Sakaguchi's Lost Odyssey. That wasn't a perfect title either, and it would have probably been damned in the same way FFXIII was.

Are you telling me that I'm not a REAL fan because I enjoyed FFXIII? Get down from that high horse and d...

I'll definitely be buying this game anyway. The hatred for Final Fantasy XIII was almost completely unwarranted. It's only seen as a weak title because it had the name "Final Fantasy" attached to it. Under any other moniker, it would have been seen as a problematic, but forward-thinking JRPG. A great title that might not have lived up to the Final Fantasy name, but was still great in its own right. People don't realise how difficult it is to consistently release some of ...

Fair enough. I think the "openness" argument is a little off target as well, but I could use a Final Fantasy XIII analogy that no one would agree with. I think the linearity of that game is inherent to the overall design and pace it, others would have preferred a more "open" Final Fantasy title, but they don't realise that it wouldn't have worked. It's the same thing. Uncharted banks on tight story-telling and pace, so yes, I do think it requires a linear progr...

This article is obviously going to stir up a heap of people, but the guy makes his case. I don't agree with him entirely, but at least it isn't a single paragraph rant on the series.

I think Uncharted 2 is the best game they've ever done as a team, and will be remembered as a milestone work for them. The Crash series as well as Jak & Daxter are both memorably solid and fun titles, but aren't massive, genre defining place-holders for their respective system...

I'm eager to see more, although they said it would be a while before we get any new info. The post-apocolyptic/zombie scenario is pretty damn tired if you ask me, although Naughty Dog do have the talent to put a good spin on it.

Anyone read the book The Road or seen the film?

I took one look at the cheesy PS4 concept art, lol'd, and proceeded not to watch the video.

Textbook spawn trap. Arguably the weakest spawn point on any map in MW3. Probably wasn't hard to get with great team mates raining down air support non-stop and silly opponents streaming into the open. An impressive time, but a lot of things were going his way.

Resistance 3 arguably didn't get the recognition it deserved. A vast improvement over the 2nd game in every respect other than marketing.

That juggernaut first day patch and the online pass situation didn't help either. Ouch. Frustrating for a game that I found to be very well paced and a heap of fun.

Multi-plat games need to do well over a million to even consider breaking even nowadays. Look at the production time of Rage. There is no way iD will ha...

Could well be the most irrelevant review ever released on N4G.

I'd be interested to know how the motion-capture looks on an uncapped frame-rate.

I think they locked it at 30fps simply because they filmed the actors faces at 23fps.

Gotta love forward-thinking mods though.

It will be sad news if Evolution go under. Motorstorm was never a mind-blowing series, and it always seemed to travel under the radar of the bigger PS3 exclusives. It was just an enjoyable gaming experience that I could drop in at any time with some friends over. Had a heap of fun with Apocalypse.

Did anyone actually read the article though? They're defending gaming as a whole. Say what you will about Activision, they're right in this regard.

There are cinematic games that go to lengths to imitate filim, but they're looked at in a completely different light by casual consumers.

You can back up the artistic value of games like Silent Hill, Bioshock and Uncharted as much as you want, regular people just aren't going to believe you. I'...

I knew after the first few hours that it wouldn't cut it as a competitive MLG game. The spawn system is designed to get poor players back into the game with "revenge" spawns. I don't know why they haven't learned that Call of Duty 4 was the game to get it right, and since then haven't broken that stigma. Spawn trapping was a tactic employed by great players. Great players implemented it and greater players broke free of them.

The game mode Domination...

Did you even read the article or have any context as to who Yahtzee is?

Yahtzee doesn't do his pointed columns for hits. The guy is deadly accurate and honest when it comes to his opinion on games. Regardless of your opinion of Uncharted, the man provides superb commentary on the state of any great game's flaws.

Uncharted 3 is a great game for which Naughty Dog should be proud of, but I find it hard to disagree with anything Yahtzee mentioned. The sto...

Invariably, every critic will once in a while go against the grain of popular opinion. Tom McShea, while certainly not my favourite Gamespot critic, generally coincides with gaming community when it comes to review scores. The fact that this one review has been lambasted and deemed "untrustworthy" is completely reactionary.

I don't agree with McShea on the game, but it remains a single persons opinion. For gamers to suggest that "he didn't get paid off ...
