This debate reaches broadly. There are a number of different types of FPS. Some are great for their single player campaigns, some are great for their multiplayer component, some are great for pretty much every reason other than the fact that you shoot weapons.

Well, in covering all those:

Half Life 2
Counter Strike
System Shock 2

In my opinion, of course.

This guy knows N4G too well. He practically nails this website to the wall and throws darts at it.

I was in the same boat. I despised Oblivion simply because the overwhelming size of the game didn't appeal to me, and I'd considered myself an RPG enthusiast. The lack of narrative momentum really put me off. I played as much as I could tolerate (16 or so hours), before I traded it in. I could understand why it was loved and lauded, but it was also a perfect example of a game that I would never play again given my sensibilities.

When Skyrim was released, I didn't ...

I for one, think this definitely needed to be pointed out. I am a massive, massive fan of the series, but it doesn't mean Uncharted 3 is a flawless masterwork. Far from it in fact. I think it's the weakest in the series so far and the lazy story isn't even the only issue.

People are constantly complaining about UC3 receiving negative press. Of course, it's countered by the other 99% of positive reviews and articles, but those are barely commented on, thus giv...

Dear God. Is this article suggesting that Microsoft and Sony don't comment on rumour or speculation?

Hard-hitting journalism at its finest.

Say what you will about Vonderhaar and Treyarch, the guys have done everything they can to improve their side of the Call of Duty franchise. It's a pity that Black Ops got some of the fundamentals wrong, because it's still a decent title. The way they've gone about communicating with the community is some of the finest and honest PR work I've seen. They know their limitations and the pressure they're under and everything Vonderhaar's stated in this article is absolutel...

Sterling has written about the Vita launch on his twitter religiously and referenced this article to point out the exact same thing.

Just because he touches a nerve with your poor self, it doesn't mean he's any less passionate about gaming as a whole.

Still the zenith of gaming psycho-horror. I've been playing the inferior later instalments just to quench undying thirst for the series. Silent Hill 2 is a masterpiece among classics.

I mean, has anyone played Silent Hill 3 lately? It's a testament to the excellent art direction. The game still looks phenomenal.

Even on high end PC's, Skyrim sees frame-rate dips. The game isn't as well optimized for PC. I get hammered whenever I'm in Whiterun or other major towns. I'll be checking this out for sure.

FF13 was weak by Final Fantasy standards and arguably the worst in the series.

But what is that saying?

I mean, looking at it objectively, 13 is a very polished, lengthy and deceptively deep title. It might not appear deep by the standards set in previous FF titles, but it beats out more than 90% of the market in terms of gameplay time. It's not even an inherently bad game.

People get angry at SquareEnix for Final Fantasy 13, and yes, per...

Kind of sad in this day and age when gamers want to see a game series go under.

Well, if Amnesia can be considered, then I'd give it Best. Dead Space 2 barely passes as a horror game for me. Not a single scare over the entire experience. A nicely paced action perhaps, but in no way a scarier game than the first.

At least Jaffe doesn't buckle under the pressure of giving the most obvious titles a spot. Arkham City was a superb game and deserving of a number 1 pick. Stacking? Rayman Origins? Words with Friends? The man can't be knocked for diversity. A great list of games that also need more exposure. Who better to deliver that message.

Some people can't see the big picture in certain games. On close inspection, Skyrim has problems. As a whole, it's an ambitious, addictive, singular experience that few games can even hope to match.

Of course it's going to be called overrated. Most great games are.

First of all, this article blows the letter way out of proportion in the title alone. The letter is a simple cease and desist notice that talks about the man potentially jeopardising the game for a younger demographic. Essentially, he isn't causing too much harm, but releasing his notes online can lead to others ruining the game.

Secondly, people complaining that Activision don't care about the Call of Duty hacks are laughably simple-minded. Call of Duty does juggern...

Very few people want the console experience on the go. Hence why the PSP struggled for so long. It lends itself to a niche market of everywhere-they-go gamers, which by-and-large, isn't very big outside of Sony's support base. The Vita is amazing tech, no doubt about it and in the long run it will surely beat out the PSP for versatility, but I think more people are waiting to see how it plays out over the next few months before they make a purchase.

It has nothing to do with being a "customer service guy". If Christoforo is supposedly good at selling a product, he won't berate the customer he's selling to like he's just another fish in the ocean. I sincerely hope he's learned his lesson, because it's the most incompetent PR work I've ever seen. What an astonishing implosion.

Nice to know that the length is up there with the other Uncharted titles. They could have easily churned out a 6 hour game for fans and casual portable gamers.

This has definitely piqued my interest in picking up a Vita earlier.

I'm surprised at the depth of this article. A handful were hilarious. Phil Taylor's Power Play Darts beats them all for my money.
