Were Official PSM choosing between exclusives or multi-platform titles as well?
For a long time I anticipated a possible FFVII remake. Nowadays, not so much. There is something inherently enjoyable about sticking in the old PSOne disc and seeing it play out in all its simplicity.
You can remake the game, but you can't replicate the experience of playing that masterpiece for the first time. The music, the visuals and the presentation in general obliterated my mind in ways that no other game has since. I've been impressed by graphics, but when I sa...
Woah, woah, woah, hold up....
There's a game called Army Corps of Hell?
PS Vita you may have my money.
Steam is practically the future of gaming content and this article is short-sighted to say the least. It was before its time when Half Life 2 was released and it's only going to continue to grow given the rise of downloadable content, digital distribution and the obscenely consumer-friendly Steam sales.
To say its "too hardcore" is utterly ridiculous.
I'm not sure what people are disagreeing with. Care to explain?
In motion, they're likely to look practically identical. I mean, if you want to nitpick you can, but I wouldn't be too displeased with the look of either game, aside from the cutscenes obviously being uncompressed on PS3.
It looks like they used Bink Compression for the 360's cutscenes. Otherwise, I think they're both running at 720p. Fantastic work.
I think All Ghillied Up takes the cake. A masterclass of level design and pacing. The incredible variety of objectives set against the backdrop of the hauntingly abandoned Pripyat will probably remain the greatest Call of Duty moment for me.
Consider though, that Half Life dropped about a decade before all of those titles.
It was one of the first of its kind to utilize first person story foreshadowing through images and easter eggs alone.
It's a pioneering work that probably inspired Kojima's MGS2 trailer at E3 2001 and a host of Jaffe's future titles.
A legit question, but no, you won't get banned. Punkbuster won't pick up on it because it isn't modded in any way. It's just a clever tweaking of in-game settings.
We just received some steelbook packages at EB Games Australia for FFXIII-2. I think it might be packed with Collectors Edition.
War was restricted to Treyarch's development I believe? I definitely think they should have brought it back in Black Ops. I had fun with that mode in WaW.
No open world game is going to ever be completely bug-free, especially given the size and scope of Skyrim. It can be argued that you come across them too often, but does it hurt a game of this magnitude? Barely. In fact, Bethesda's bugs are generally the funniest and most endearing.
It was a similar story with Fallout 3. Bugs plagued that game, more-so the expansions, but I'd still consider it to be a generation defining title.
Ambitious gaming concep...
Haha. Kind of thought I'd be the only one to make a comparison. Here's a third:

Ash from The Evil Dead series.
I think it's almost certainly Vita.
I bought a PS3 for the same reason this guy went with Nintendo or Microsoft. I have a history with Playstation consoles, so naturally, that was the one I bought first. I own both now. It's not WRONG to own either system. They serve different purposes for different people.
Interesting that the file is so much smaller than 13. Going by Famitsu's review, the game seems to have almost the same amount of content. I'm guessing fewer cutscenes. The 360 version might be using Bink compression again. I'm not sure if it's sub-HD this time either. Hopefully they can get it to 720p for 360 owners.
If you guys haven't already read the Making of Crash Bandicoot on Andy Gavin's blog, I highly recommend it. Insanely awesome insight into the early rise of Naughty Dog and their development philosophies.
It looks like a decent game, but nothing that will persuade me to purchase a Move or any other motion peripheral for that matter. I'll stick to good old, precise, controller gaming.
Some people like to think that if the PS3 can produce visuals like Last of Us or Uncharted 3, that any game can look as good if a developer has enough time. Fact of the matter is, Uncharted 3 is optimized especially well for a single console by a team that knows the PS3 inside and out, while Battlefield 3 has to deliver virtually the same experience across three platforms.
Jim Sterling is one of the few gaming journalists that actually has the balls to give any title an honest score based on his OPINION. The man can be an asshat, of that there is no doubt, but to say he lacks credibility, smarts or gaming passion is undermining his vast knowledge and love for games. Watch The Jimquisition or read his Twitter feed. The man offers scathing commentaries on the state of gaming and game-players. Whilst everybody is being feed the same vanilla garbage that Greg Mille...
