"JIM STERLING STRIKES AGAIN"
"STILL GIVES HIGHER SCORE THAN SOME OUTLETS"
How can you not see cloud gaming becoming permanent? Do you realise how young the system is? Of course OnLive lags, it's one of the first known implementations of cloud gaming.
This idea by NVidia is ground-breaking, and likely to send the console market into a frenzy if they don't choose to compete.
I bought a Wii for this game and haven't regretted in the slightest. My personal favourite for JRPG of this generation, even over Lost Odyssey.
This article is HORRIBLY written. I mean, Diablo 3 is definitely a title that can be debated for hours, but this article doesn't give me any incentive to start.
There is a difference between a cutscene running on the in-game engine and an in-game screenshot.
Look at any past Uncharted title. Naughty Dog are extremely clever at disguising the transition from the cutscene to the gameplay. They are one of the few developers to get so close to emulating exactly what you see in a detailed dialogue scene, that you can't seperate it from gameplay. You're a fool to think they're the same though. Note especially the facial animati...
Diablo II looked dated when that was released too. Blizzard have always made their games this way. Serviceable visuals, addictive gameplay.
Diablo III is no slouch though. Looks decent for what it is. I'm just disappointed that they've foregone that ominous gothic feel and music from the first two titles in favour of a WOW styled EMULATION of Diablo with a bombastic score that leaves no real impression.
The first boss is tough as hell. Anyone beaten Error 37 yet? Dude is continuously turning me down.
Damn, say what you will about Cliffy, but the dude has taste. Fatal Frame 2 is great, Silent Hill 2 is a masterpiece.
I gotta disagree with him in regards to the latest Silent Hill though. I thought it was a step in the right direction for the series. Problematic, but obviously made with a passion for the original Team Silent titles.
Also, he mentioned the film Solaris. What a boss. Silent Hill fans should be renting/buying this film right now. Whether it'...
We compete against Game in the same mall complex here. The employees there have received a barrage of complaints about the non-existence of Diablo 3 stock. A number of people who had pre-order the Collectors or Standard Editions weren't allowed refunds due to the company being under administration. The staff there can literally do nothing about it and are likely to go under.
It's a sad situation. The manager at that store is relying on what little he makes there to pa...
Curious decision by THQ if true. inSane could have been a promising project under Del Toro. Hopefully it's still being made.
That's ridiculous. It's like a collectable figurine, but you can eat it, and it's Skyrim.
If that kid ever complains, I fully permit the mother to make an ebony war axe cake to put him in order.
Picked up the PS2 version the other day. It was a miracle find too!
Love the Fatal Frame titles.
DAT ENGINE.
Usually when "Jim Sterling writes", people read that and the number associated with it. Never the actual content of the review.
There are a number of glaring holes in Uncharted 3's plot that many seem to gloss over, these included.
One that always bugged me was the zombified body in the mansion that Drake and Sully discover, it's never alluded to again and doesn't connect in any way to the story.
If most of this is true, then consider me disappointed.
Co-op seems to be tacked onto a heap of big EA titles nowadays. Hopefully it doesn't impact on the single player campaign in any way.
The dodge roll I don't have a massive problem with, but crouching? Both in tandem seem to suggest some sort of cover mechanic, which by and large, moves it right away from the survival horror genre.
Human enemies don't bring me any confidence ...
This will surely fly under the radar when it sees a Western release. Could well be one of the best in 2013 without anyone actually knowing.
While Call of Duty does get any number of things wrong, this is more a case of 'hate the player, not the game'. Camping will be prevalent in this game, as it will be in future iterations of the series and many other great FPS titles. That's how it has been for the biggest multiplayer shooters in the last decade and that's how it's always going to be.
Unless you're Tribes, camping is just going to be a culture of poor gamers that you'll have to tole...
People think that simply because OnLive isn't popular with the masses now, that it won't be in the future and we don't need it. How short-sighted some gamers can be.
Cloud gaming is where the industry is almost certainly headed, and while OnLive is ambitious, it doesn't have the necessary backing to truly capture everyone...yet. Conceptually, it's way ahead of the industry. Remember how frustrating Steam was when it launched? How completely unnecessary it ...
Staggering article. Well done. Schwartz's comments are absolutely mind-blowing, especially when he talks about Project Icebreaker. THIS is good game journalism people. Business is brutal.
