Xbox doesn’t have a single game this gen that rivals even Sony’s last gen output. Not a single game to match up with the quality of Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima, or Last of Us 2, FF7 remake, Bloodborne, or Infamous: SS. Much less this gen’s offerings…Returnal, Demon Souls, Ratchet & Clank, Sifu, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, and Horizon: FW, and until later this year even Deathloop. Then there’s the games still to come plus PSVR2…pssshh, please.

I love the back and forth bit, but Xbox would still need to be releasing games though for there to be a true competition again, not just consoles.

Looks horrible to me. All just a bunch of meaty atmosphere and no gameplay substance. Does very little to impress from what I’ve seen so far.
Yet there was no mention of the “other” companies. This was a hit piece on Sony. For me it’s the opposite, I could just as easily complain about the two series controllers with sticky triggers, which is even more sad considering how little I use them compared to my dual sense controllers. No need for an epic rant though and selling off my consoles…keep your stuff clean, use gently, use the warranties and replace them when needed. No controller has or will ever last forever. “Superior IPs”? aka IPs for the kiddo’s…Nintendo is stuck doing cute games while everyone else is doing their best to push technical gameplay and graphical boundaries further. I own a switch and it collects more dust then any other Nintendo console I’ve ever owned. Couldn’t be more dissatisfied with their game output the gen. I’m sure I’d see it differently if I were still 10 years old though.
Don’t get Santa Monica mixed with 343i. “Tons of cut content” in games is not really been a Sony 1st party issue. They actually seem to know how to foster and manage their studios efficiently. So it might be a year late total, but we did have a pandemic, we know the kratos voice actor had some medical issues - and they waited for him, and we know the caliber of Santa Monica’s work at large. They’ve always delivered, every game tends to be worth the wait. Unlike some games which are still lack...
Good for them. Still looks like Overwatch 1.2 rather then a full fledged sequel. I loved the 1st game but this looks uninspired.
Is called a rating system. If parents don’t wanna go by the ESRB ratings packaged on every game at the very least, then it’s just scapegoating for not wanting to pay attention to the content their kid(s) are consuming.

Tencent and Communist China won’t be getting a dime of my gaming budget. Understandable how hard is to avoid Chinese products all together because they make damn near everything. However, cheap dollar toys is one thing. Supporting full priced AAA games that make it through the CCP’s filter of “what’s ok” sounds pretty garbage to me. They can eat my shorts.
I think Merrin is referring to seeing proper AAA games run at 1440p as it was advertised. Ori while a great game, is not the same as seeing games like Dying Light 2, Cyberpunk, or The Division 2 running higher then 900p…which should not be a current gen problem to begin with if I’m asked.
I’m seeing The Division elements being brought in. Can play solo or with buddies. Human elements and factions in safe zones, clickers and big bounty in “dark zones”. Personally I can’t wait, especially if it’s anything like how I’m imagining it
It’s worth $100 to me. I’m getting the Firefly Edition if I can get my hands on it. But I’m a huge fan of the IP and collecting cool box art for wall display.
Which is sad, they do a pretty good job with shooting mechanics at their sister studios with Doom at ID, Wolfenstein at Machine Games, and Dishonored and Deathloop at Arcane Studios. You’d think reaching out for some help on their biggest IP wouldn’t be a problem with them all under one roof now.
Day 1 only cost $15 or less, so that’s not really saying much. Cost gamers almost nothing, so I expect an unfinished game full of bugs. This is the way of gamepass. Forza being the one exception so far.
For serious? This looks worse then Anthem to me. Super uninspired, and bland looking. Would’ve greatly preferred Capcom revived Dino Crisis if they had to do a game with Dinosaurs.
This gen doesn’t even do locked 4k60 w/ Raytracing. The extra power could absolutely be used without the need to upgrade to an 8k tv yet. I’ll take a PRO model any day Sony wants to drop one.
Have some faith in Sam Lake. What game has he failed to deliver on an amazing an original experience. He’s one of the few with an untarnished resume.
