Maybe they needed the money to develop the game in the 1st place. No exclusivity deal = too small a budget to build and pull off a new AAA IP. Sounds like a resource issue to me.
Looks better than Starfield in my opinion. Not super stoked for either game really but this will likely be Xbox’s best console exclusive experience this year besides another good old trusty Forza…
Couple days after release is too late for you? Or did you ever intend to play it on PS5 to begin with?
I’m sure Forza will look great in VR, oh wait….
@ EvertonFC - And I wish Forza was coming to VR like Gran Turismo…which is PS5 and PSVR2 exclusive..
Except that wasn’t at the start of the series launch. Those (3) games didn’t get released til the series was out for an entire year with nothing to play. And followed up with year two having ZERO 1st party games. Horrible start to the gen if you ask me.
This^. I’d like to see Hellblade 2 and Redfall this year and then Avowed and Fable next year. I don’t have strong curiosity about Starfield at all.
Arkane has been pretty awesome and I’d add Machine Games and IDsoftware too titles too, the rest of Bethesda teams I don’t care for either though
Great world and story, and npc’s, but the combat is still boring trash. The limited sword animations always make me roll my eyes every time I see them. Ray-traced or not.
Isn’t the ‘no tutorials” thing one of the same thing souls-born titles are celebrated for? So game of the year does it and it’s no problem, a new AAA IP is introduced which happens to replicate a similar feature and it missing something important. Very interesting
That’s what I’ve gathered so far. Guns feel secondary to the up close melee mechanics, making the dodge absolutely essential to your ability to dish out combos. Feels frustrating at times but fresh as well. I’m diggin it personally.
I’m about 4-5 hours in on PS5 version. Enjoying every moment I’ve played so far. After adjusting to the “dodge” mechanics it’s on to greener pastures. Maybe slightly too straight forward in some regards, but a beautiful game and close quarter combat to behold. Also, while not as fleshed out world-wise as I remember Dead Space being, it’s definitely has a marvelous atmosphere and setting that I want to spend more time in as soon as possible.
Name another publisher besides Nintendo that puts out as many quality titles on a more consistent basis then Sony. He’s not completely off base in his assessment.
They sure did. Pretty decent I might add. Killer Instinct, Ryse: Son of Rome, Dead Rising 3, and a new Forza on Day 1. For a poorly remembered console cycle it still had bounds more then we’ve had so far this gen. You would’ve thought they’d have made better progress by now, instead they launched a new gen system with no games for an entire year. Lol
Don’t know why I bought my Series X without any proof of actual big games progressing and regularly releasing. It’s been a...
One is a choose your own adventure game with no memorable story to speak of without an internet deep dive, and a gameplay philosophy of more is better while the other is a masterclass in storytelling, character development, deep yet accessible fighting mechanics and a gorgeous top-of-class graphically inspiring world and lore to flesh out at perfect pacing. Kratos stands high above Elden Ring for me personally.
Gotham Knights? It’s next-gen only and stuck at 30fps on all platforms when series X and PS5 are clearly capable of 60fps on almost every game.
On the day Ragnarok drops no less. Sad for some, but not for me!
Starfield is a brand new IP though. Elder Scrolls has a long history with PS and would leave a ton of money on the table not putting it on other platforms, just like CoD. I suppose you think the next DOOM game will only be on Xbox as well. Smh…
Sonic Adventure for Dreamcast was my favorite Sonic. I always wished they could recapture that semi-open world hub and story arc that made it a blast to play through. This looks pretty close, so I’m gonna give it a go once I’m done with Ragnarok.
Might be because Sony games have the quality to back up the $70 price tag. Just look at Demon Souls, Returnal, R&C: Rift in time, Horizon Forbidden West, and God of War. Wish Xbox could justify the same. The only games they have that merit that price point currently is from the Forza franchise, everything else has fallen short or still in development hell. The only way I’ll try half their games is through their cheap service one or two months a year.
