I’m running 1440p ultra @ 100+ fps. Not denying the bugs exist, but not everyone is having trouble with it. Definitely enjoying my play through right now, and it’s never looked better.
Why would MS lose the licenses of an IP they own entirely? Should that be concerning with 1st party games going forward with gamepass?
Same reason Bungie is not at MS anymore. No creative freedom. Xbox could be the sole owner of Halo and Destiny right now but Xbox wanted to milk the chief death and succeeded with 343. This is THE biggest prime example of MS’s inability to manage development teams to their detriment.
They are the most important aspect to what sets each ecosystem apart. Mario to Nintendo is pretty important I’d say, the same way Master Chief used to be important to Xbox. The reason to play one place or another. Iconic characters and games are what make a great console memorable. No need in downplaying their importance. Play games not services and the choice becomes painfully clear who has the better dev studios and finished products.
Series console is definitely the better dust collector as there’s seldom a good reason to turn it on.
Because we’re not programmed to wait until everything is given to us for next to nothing. Playstation gamers still support their hobby with their wallets.
Fathom?
I don’t need your belief, I’ve got a crap ton of old hardware and software that say otherwise, including being a Day 1 Halo: Combat Evolved and OG Xbox system adopter. You can GTFO if it hurts your feelings to see a fan venting about gamer wanting actual Xbox games. But instead they need to go purchase half the industry to do that. Haha….A return to form is all I’m asking. Make games worthy of full price regardless of where you put them. I think gamepass is a sink hole for AAA budget games an...
Tell me again how optimizing games for a million different devices versus one or two consoles will end result in better gamers long run from the industry for consumers. Xbox’s service-centric focus will stifle and cheapen AAA gaming with gamepass “reaching more players” over any real risk taking, innovation, and straight up making games worthy of the AAA moniker. It’s year 3 and besides Forza Horizon, Halo was a turd and we’re left with nothing else so far this gen and they had how many stud...
My sentiments exactly. We know absolutely nothing about this game even though it was shown off years ago. It’s time show that thing soon or safely assume it’s stuck in development hell along with several other prematurely revealed Xbox studio projects.
And Hi-fi rush was in development how long before MS acquired them? MS didn’t take a risk on that game, Bethesda did. Let us know when Xbox takes an actual big risk with an in-house big IP and stick the landing. I’ve had my eyes peeled for a years for a single strike of greatness coming out of Xbox besides Forza. Where’s fable, Gears, Perfect Dark or anything original? Halo bombed already…It’s been pretty sad watching the richest player on the board squirming with no huge 1st party titles for...
So we should celebrate someone else’s failures instead? No really great logic there…
Couldn’t agree more. While I can live with 5 mostly, 6 needs to be completely rewritten. Would love to see these two get major overhauls to the game and story for each to bring them in line with the overall quality of the rest of the series.
Agreed. In this day of soulsborne fandom, a brand new game or reboot of Onimusha would go a long way.
Already over the 10 million unit lead and counting. I can only imagine the pull away is only going to get steeper throughout the rest of the gen. Good games prevail, congrats Sony.
(3) AAA games in Gran Turismo 7, RE:Village, and Horizon: Call of the Mountain all available on day 1 and over 100 titles within just the launch window. Yea, I think it’s going to justify itself pretty quickly in my house. Absolutely can’t wait for that box to arrive next week.
Agreed, but neither were announced for a 1st half of 23’ release. A 3-4 month marketing window before release is more than enough time and exposure to ready a game for release. Starfield’s window to market it and deliver that game in the 1st half of 23’ as was promised after a big delay already is about to close completely. Not exact same situation. And when was the last game Insomniac didn’t deliver, those devs are damn near wizard level good, and especially good at hitting their targets. I ...
Fantastic games. Probably too difficult for casuals to enjoy, and the story felt a little cheesy/tacked on. Mechanic-wise they were very deep for a melee action game and the boss fights were intense. Super fun. If you’ve got grit to push through their learning curve I couldn’t recommend them enough.
Most people will play it there regardless and not purchase and support it. I can’t see at all how Xbox is supposed to profit off big budget titles when gamepass doesn’t really encourage anyone to actually purchase their games anymore. But this way MS never has to mention sales again, just more and more obscure engagement metrics going forward, so I’m sure they’re just fine with that.
Name one bad game released under Jim? There were none to my knowledge. And we’ve gotten fairly consistent 1st party and 3rd party partner exclusive releases all gen long so far. That’s how I rate his job is how busy and satisfied I stay gaming. I say he stays as long as we still keep getting complete games at such a high quality. The rest is a bunch of for them or against them PR BS. The games are the real proof, and on that level I’m a happy customer.
