I disagree. Besides the solo modes lack of unlocks(which I’m sure will be addressed), the game itself IS one long campaign, as were the original two L4D games. I personally dig it, and it’s a meaty campaign at that. Can’t finish it in one or even two sit downs. Small hiccups here and there, but nothing to detract from the amazing bones that exist in this IP. I’ll be gladly playing this over CoD and BF this fall and into next year.
I know it’s not a sim, but wide open pastures with zero pot holes, taking down trees, fences and stone or brick walls with my exotic low-to-the-ground car just never felt right to me.
They need to. Phil sucks. It must be exhausting hyping non-stop “best ever e3’s” every damn year without anything substantial to actually show for it. Microsoft stopped pushing the medium forward outside of Forza a long time ago. Now it’s just the best place to play top downs and sports titles. Lol. I’d love one good AAA narrative experience, just ONE. Finally another Halo campaign coming out that sounds promising. Without that this Christmas, my SeriesX would make a better book-end or space ...
I don’t know about BEST, but at a minimum it’s a lot of fun. Graphics are nice, frame rate seem fairly steady, and there’s quite a long campaign to work through, with more content to come. No major complaints from me at the moment, outside of needing more time to play the game.
Imagine all the games that were supposed to have launched with the SeriesX or shortly after…oh wait, there were none.
And half a billion dollars. Don’t forget they poured that in
Cool. I’ll take whatever new customizations I can for the PS5.
Switch lineup looks like trash for anybody who likes western games
For an extra $350 with no other impactful upgrades, I don’t think so. Nintendo has no respect for my wallet these days.
5 years ago maybe
Still outperforming the series S too, outside of load speeds 😆. It’s the better console, they phased out for no good reason.
The entire world is having a semi-conductor/chip shortage or have you been under a rock. No one company is solving that problem right now. Not a great comparison or reasoning for what either Xbox is going through and their continued drought of big games or Sony and their inability to keep up with console demand.
You said it OG. Itches that Bioshock scratch for sure. And sadly between Deathloop, prey, and Dishonored (All quality titles), Arcane still seem to be an under rated studio. I hope they continue on course though, I love their work.
Maybe some of us are invested in both eco systems and wish Xbox was holding up its end of the “competition”. I’d love just one good AAA MS game that’s not forza. Just one truly good reason to fire up my series X.
They don’t typically advertise it like this either though. It is interesting, it’s their first project, should be in no rush, and already needing outside help in early development. Might be nothing, but doesn’t sound great either.
Many companies outsource to complete a game, most don’t give a press release like this to announce the new “partnership”. Sounds to me like another MS studio doesn’t know the full direction to take their project in, and they’re bringing in an established veteran team to help guide them.
Also this game is also in early development. Nobody is rushing them to any set finish line or release date. If they’re having no troubles with the project, why not let this new All-Star tea...
Beard, some war paint, and red armor…all fixed! Lol
Shadow of Mordor/War Orc and Uruki variations and animations from years ago looked better than this future “flagship” AAAA title 😬
Nothing like driving through pot holeless pastures without a scratch or front wheel alignment needed. Lol. You’re comparing a sim to open world sandbox hot wheels-esque landscape. They’re not the same ballpark.
I’d take the 4k(60locked) performance mode all day. Ray Tracking while nice, doesn’t impact the overall gameplay experience yet. 1080p Rez to me is like looking through a dirty glass. I can’t go back, regardless of the frame rate.
1080p 240hz, while silky smooth, still looks like rubbish in comparison when you see how much detail is lost.
@Tedakin - And your reaching by listing 2 games that were both near finished when MS acquired them, and they’re both on the main competitors platform, one exclusively(Deathloop). You gotta scape the barrel pretty hard to come out with that crap argument for Xbox’s lack of games defense.
