I couldn't agree more. Makes no difference to me if Bethesda doesn't allow early reviews. I can wait for release of the game then give reviewers a chance to provide a comprehensive review. Why is it so important to buy on day 1? Like an extra 5-10 days matters?
Not only the cheapest but the rug rats can take it with them in their mom's minivan too.
Yep. I will be upgrading to PS4 Pro at some point. Easily worth it.
I would strongly prefer that CRPR retain control of their company and thus complete artistic and creative control of their products. CDPR is one of the finest independent game developers / publishers out there. It built that by hard work and smart decisions. Any other owner would likely only disrupt their practices over time.
I imagine everyone has heard the saying, "Always leaving them wanting more". Strategy seems like sound marketing to me. I guess the opposite would be MS with Scorpio. They detailed so much right at reveal. Danger in that is consumers put all their hope and dreams into something and there is a good chance any product can't meet those expectations.
@Timotim The point about being late is not that they don't have revenue and some market share. The point is that by being late there are missed opportunities and you open the door for competitors and disruptive. Google is a prime example. In many respects MS lack of vision enabled a company like Google to thrive both in search and mobile.
@moldybread So by Beam putting Twitch to shame you mean in terms of performance / features? To shame? Really? Performance for both is fine by me. We'll see how Beam's performance scales when they get viewer counts like Twitch does. For example, at this moment, Twitch has 13,115 viewers on BF1 alone. Beam has 17. Don't get me wrong, I like Beam too. I don't really care which streaming service I watch. I watch for the game / streamer not the service.
MS is notably late to some major parties. Mobile and search being two big ones. In other areas they are late but seem to be able to recover from late starts. However, based market share, Windows mobile and Bing seem to fare pretty poorly. I wonder if their current position on VR will also be a similar result? The majority of the revenua is still derived from MS Windows on pc, MS office, and a growing Azure cloud platform.
I am reminded of the line from the movie "The Breakfast Club"...."So it's kinda social. Demented and sad but social".
I have been impacted by a poor driver release for nVidia once already this past year. Since then I have waited to install a new driver a couple days or weeks to see if any reports problems. In this case, I never installed the driver released which had issues. Pays to be patient.
I prefer watching game streams to gauge how I might like the game. Reviews have some value but they are limited and man y of them are handing out 8, 9 , or higher to please advertisers on their site. Best idea is to not buy games on day 1 and wait a couple days / weeks to see how the game really plays. I am guilty of buying NMS on day one. And now it sits there collecting dust. Lesson learned (again).
@Septic. Well 4K doesn't really matter if one doesn't own a 4K display. So yea your're right 4K doesn't matter just yet. I am not running out to buy a new display just for console gaming. Sure once I own a 4K display it may matter. Difference here is PS4 support higher resolution out of the gate and didn't require additional display purchase for most people.
@gbsrnctaln You are making my point. You cannot buy the car yet so knowing the specs today is nice but not crucial since there is no way to purchase at this time. I agree knowing the specs before you buy is important but it is still an unreleased product. We'll just have to wait till more info is available.
I wonder if that was a mistake on AMZN's part. Darn, currently unavailable. I would have bought that instantly for 93% off.
I guess Pachter does not ascribe to the theory "never speak ill of the dead".
Why is it important for them to reveal specs before it is released? It's not like you can buy it before it is released. If it's just to satisfy one's curiosity then we'll all just need to be patient. Don't get me wrong, I am interested in specs too but not concerned about waiting till release.
I see the retweet from Bethesda about being a publishing partner with Nintendo. Interesting. Good sign. Nintendo needs both strong first and third party support.
I like what they showed in the reveal. However, I would like to know something of specs and 3rd party support before I consider a purchase.
Not too harsh in my book. They probably won't get 10 years though. Old enough to do the crime, old enough to pay the time. What was the prison called in the movie Office Space? Federal Pound me in the @55 Prison? Hope they enjoy having a felony conviction on their record forever.
I am very interested in the Switch. I will seriously consider purchasing one.
