It really depends on the type of game, classic horror games like Resident Evil don't have a dodge mechanic, in most action games, I would like to have either a block or dodge, or even both. In shooting, or horror games, I think it's understandable to not have a block or dodge mechanic, if the developer doesn't intend for you to play the game like that.

Sometimes, it's best not to listen to player feedback, although I think most games have benefited from it,...

I would have not picked the Japanese as giving the worst Steam Reviews, but that could also be because culturally, they generally don't rank anything as absolutely terrible or amazing when reviewing a place/thing. China doesn't surprise me, I actually thought they would have taken top spot. Dota alone may have skewed the results there, that game in general has a pretty toxic fanbase, and Wilds runs like crap on the best of computers, PUBG as well (unless they've fixed that).

@Lightning77,
He either needed more help, or he needed to scale back his initial plans.

Titanic Scion almost feels like what Anthem should have been, the core concept was golden, but the execution was excruciatingly bad.

Persona 6 and Skies of Arcadia remaster/port please, there's heaps you could surprise me with, and I'd probably be happy with it.

Sony technically does have their own shows, but they haven't had much to showcase this gen, I don't think they could support a similar format to Nintendo's various Directs.

I would like to think they wouldn't burn all their good announcements before TGS, but I would like to see some surprises in there.

America really could use a bit more regulation, the stuff they have access to and how easily they can get it is insane to me.

I kinda feel sorry for the guy developing it, it was clearly a passion project, but it was pretty clear to me that it wasn't going to be a big hit, it actually looked worse in newer trailers. So maybe he was too ambitious for what he wanted to, even hiring help and founding a studio couldn't complete his vision.

I think you'd have to be a unicorn to buy this game full stop, if you really like Star Wars, and had to have this game, I'd buy it at a steep discount.

For an arcade racer, I don't feel they're particularly difficult as someone who doesn't normally play racing games. I actually have to change the difficult to hard to give me a run for my money on a lot of tracks. I started playing Sonic racing transformed on my Steam Deck a while back (finished it on PS4 previously), normal was too easy, but I lost quite often on hard. Some of the challenges might be harder, I do struggle with some of those.

I'm glad it's a long jump between consoles, I definitely don't regret my purchase, and I won't feel cheated or let down by the time it's successor comes out. Plus, the technology has progressed enough to make a new handheld worth the purchase, I don't care even if it's a year or two later than rumoured.

When a 4090/5090 is struggling, you know your game/engine has significant issues, top of the line hardware should not be struggling to get 4K 60fps (Monster Hunter Wilds being a prime example).

I would like to see more use the Steam Deck or a Rog Ally as a base for testing performance, and then build on that for high/ultra settings on PC.

Idk, Id Tech engines does have trouble on some of their games, especially on PC, see Wolfenstein, Old Blood in particular didn't run so great for me despite my computer obliterating the tech spec recommendations.

@neutralgamer1992,
My understanding is that developing your own engine can be costly and time-consuming, ideally you'd want to do it because you can customise it to do the things you want. But look at the engines Square-Enix has developed and thrown aside over the years, most Indie developers could never afford the time or money to make their own either.

Hence why UE is so popular, and to a lesser degree, Unity and Godot.

The first year or so is always like this because there isn't a lot of new games to any given new system.

I think it's more perspective, Lies of P is good, but I already own Psychonauts 2, and I don't care for Stardew Valley, so August was better for me. But if I had none of these games, nor certain preferences, September is the better overall month.

A good game is still a good game, a 5/10 these days is a disappointing score, I cannot belive it would not score well unless it had technical issues.

It's going to take a while to fully change course, they have a lot of Live Service games in the works.
