Too many people chasing trends and ridiculous amounts of money, I understand why, but they're not really thinking of making a good game first and foremost. I'm sure there are a lot more games we could add to your list, but most of us forgotten some of those games by now.
I don't care for the PS5, and probably not for the PS6 if Sony maintains this trajectory, I'll definitely want that Switch 2 though. I think exclusives are a console's biggest draw, hence why Xbox has stumbled for so long, and probably won't be around as long as the other two.
I live outside a country town (it's a 20min trip to the nearest), but I got fixed wireless instead of satellite, which has been a massive improvement, being able to play online and stream VOD. It could have been so much better, though, you're probably one of the ones who's better off, I know some people in my town who can't get those speeds.
lol, nope, nothing has changed, for example, the NBN in Australia is still gimped and Labor can't be bothered to fix it since they got voted out before anything could be built. It's definitely not feasible in Australia.
I play this on PC and Steamdeck on and off, it's fun to unwind with it for a couple of hours, plus the amount of content it has is bonkers. I think it also had a controversy or two in recent times, especially if you bought the "Just as Planned DLC", which I did.
If I've learnt anything about companies/corporations, it's that they tend to be more stubbornly headstrong than you would expect, even when large sums of money are involved.
I just think the "woke" is the final nail in the coffin, people can't love or get attached to these character designs (unlike Overwatch which had some "woke", but the character designs were better). I watched reviews about the game after the beta came out, and most people didn't seem impressed when it didn't fully adhere to the archetype of "hero Arena Shooters" game play. Too slow and floaty, characters are health sponges, etc...

Is it really weeb stuff when it's all Funko pops, T-shirts, Minecraft, controllers, mice and keyboards? Or at least, that's all I see in my local store.
I also thought Funko Pops were falling out of popularity, but I'm still seeing them everywhere.
Compared to say 2 years ago, I barely see any games in my town's either, there's barely one wall of games (almost half of it is taken up by controllers and other stuff anyway). I don't even walk into there to see what the new releases are anymore.
Those are more the exception to the rule, I think your comment is the embodiment of "survivorship bias", the majority of these games flop, only a few consistently rake in the big bucks, and some only enjoy a short period of success.
I used to buy $300 phones, but they kept breaking after about a year for various reasons. After a few years of this, I just went back to flagships, considering I intend to keep a phone for at least 4 years, it was working out to be the same amount of money anyway.

Nah, silent protags are great for this franchise, just give us a FeMC option for those of us who want to use it.
Something like Halo/Vanquish would be great, I'd love a sci-fi shooting game like that.
There is a lot of competition in the handheld now, Sony should have done better and cemented their place with the Vita.
Between the PS5 and PSVR2, also the previous history of some of their handhelds, I really don't have faith that they can support a new PS handheld. Support what you have first Sony before you consider doing a handheld.
I can't even trust DigitalFoundry after their last gaming controversy, I only rely on them to report on game/hardware performance, and even then, I take a it with a grain of salt.
I even have to wonder, does this game even have any appeal to the PS fan base? It's not doing well on Steam either, I'm not sure if this would even do well on Xbox.

There's always a couple that want to die on the hill for any given piece of media, regardless of how bad it is. The Acolyte is another example, the viewership was so low, that it won't get a second season, yet a small number is in denial and blamed those criticizing the show.
Those are doing pretty well, I'm looking forward to the remasters most of all personally, the Dragon Quest remasters look really good.
