It's already over, the reputation around this game is so bad, and Ubisoft has built up so much ill will around this game (of their own doing of course), that I don't think this game can be salvaged, it'll flop, it's guaranteed at this point.
The Japanese are the most offended, tell me you're out of the loop without telling me you're out of the loop.
There are so many historical inaccuracies, and they used things that they did not have permission to make/use in this game. There is no point running defence for them at this point.
The games industry is so bizarre lately, especially in this gen, most developers making all the wrong moves and doing the opposite of what their customers actually want in a product. If anything, Fortnite is the odd one out, or the one outstanding phenomenon that continuously hits it out of the park, you can expect large multiples of games to reach that height of popularity.
They spent all the dev time and money on making terrain and empty worlds.
I actually thought they couldn't do anything about emulators unless they include the core/bios (which allows for the decrypting of the game?). But I could be wrong, because technically Steam hosts retroarch, even if they did have to remove Dolphin from the list of emulators bundled with it.
I think anything that is not easily available, e.g. this gen or possibly last gen, is fair game, they're not going to print more copies or make it available for purchase, even Sony and Xbox don't relentless hunt people down and sue them out of existance.
The last time they made a Breath of Fire game, it got relegated to being a mobile game, they really dashed my hopes with that last game. I could go really go for a remaster of 3 & 4, I love 4, and I always seem to be cursed when it comes to playing 3 (I got 3 on the PSP, but it didn't play well on the original PSP models if I remember right).
@MrBaskerville,
Technically they did, it was a mobile game, my disappointment was immeasurable.
I actually thought I was the only one who played Maximo, lol.
I feel like no gaming news outlets really covered TGS this year, I had to resort to Youtubers to get my new games info.
I played those so much as I kid, I bought the Twisted Metal games that were on PSN as Playstation Classics, wow, they feel clunky by today's standards, they could really use the remake/remaster treatment.
I just think the Pro is not good value, didn't even include a stand or some other collectables.
I would love a collection with Koudelka, Shadow Hearts, Covenant and From the New World... I never got to play Shadow Hearts, that game was stupidly rare before Covenant came out. From the New World isn't too expensive or difficulty to find for a reasonable price, but Shadow Hearts is impossible unless you want to fork over $200 for a copy.
I still think they never should have bothered with the PS5 Pro this gen, some games should also probably not go as heavy on the RT since it's not AMD's strong point. Although, their next gen GPUs will supposedly square up better to Nvidia lineup (or at least the 40 series).
The rating system is so broken, I don't even trust it anymore.
I just like the overall look of the original better for the most part.
It's not worth paying for, there's so little visual improvement, it's just slightly different at best, so I'm going to stick with the original.
Just let them burn, at this point, I don't care if a few developers like Ubisoft don't survive, it's healthier for the industry, although, with everything that's happening, I feel like we might be due for a crash.
@-Foxtrot,
I think they fear, say Youtubers more than journalists, I'm also sure the journalists are in bed with a lot of these big developers, but most of us aren't listening to journalists. All my news and reviews come from news sites and Youtubers, I wouldn't even dare pre-order or buy a game day one, I've been burned enough to know better.
I'm pretty sure Ghost of Yotei will kill AC Shadows regardless of when they release, if I was offered both at the same time, or even 6 months apart, I'd just choose Ghost of Yotei.
I don't really care for AC outside of Black Flag, but seeing as this was Japanese themed, I might have considered buying it if they had done a good job.
