and logical reason as to why, in game wise, Cole would change his looks.
and we can't have that. we have to blow this whole thing out of proportion and whine over a change to a character that DESPERATELY NEEDED A CHANGE, instead of talking about how absolutely AMAZING the game looks, and how the game play upgrades are going to rock.
but hey, Cole has tape on his fingers, and that's infinitely more worthy of conversation than the fact that he can make ...
but Cole simply wasn't a compelling character design to begin with. he didn't stand out. he sounded like >insert current protagonist trend here<, and he didn't have much of a personality outside of his comic book cutscenes where he's narrating, not interacting with other characters.
people are mostly judging this new Cole based on his looks, and now they're basing it off of a few sentences the new actor spoke in the trailer.
for all ...
changing Snake and changing Cole is that Snake, in MGS 1, was a CLEARLY DEFINED CHARACTER.
there were so many scenes in the game in which Kojima specifically addressed who Snake was that if they had changed his voice actor in sequels, it would have been a bad thing.
Cole wasn't a good character.
a gruff voice doesn't automatically make you a badass.
he was a bit of a dick when he did talk, and he let all the other cha...
it's that kind of objectivity that i find so refreshing among game journalists these days! oh, wait...
sorry Eurogamer, but i don't give a rats ass what you say when you can't even open up an article without your high opinion of yourselves getting in the way.
i suppose you guys fall into the "Prototype will pwn inFAMOUS" camp. yeah, we all know how THAT turned out. *snicker*
anyway, inFAMOUS 2 is going to rock, and the f...
no screens. no quotes from the devs.
and i love the last line: "Point in the development cycle: The devs stressed that the game was at the halfway mark, so expect another year or two before you can get your mitts on this one. "
another year or two? REALLY?
halfway through it's dev cycle is usually 12 months. inFAMOUS 2 will have a 2 year dev cycle. i imagine that development started soon after the first wrapped and shipped, and ...
but Sucker Punch is second party, and a very small team (about 80 or less).
i'd imagine that Sony would pony up the money to help them expand, but with all the other projects in the works at their first party companies, i'm not so sure.
i still stand by my belief that not every game needs MP. i'd maybe give co-op a shot, as i always enjoy playing with friends, but i'm not that into competitive multi-player.
the Sly Cooper emblem on Cole's backpack. lol. i guess they didn't remove it afterall!

some of you guys are overreacting.
i guess i'm in the camp that didn't think the original Cole was anything to write home about.
his design was ok, i guess, but didn't really fit with a bike messenger. it looked like it was designed to make him look like a "modern day superhero," instead of the spandex and tights super hero. kind of like what they do with just about every super hero franchise in comics (like the X-Men movies).

"Empire City would 'pwn' if i had buddies."
i'm sick of this MP trend being shoehorned into every game just to appease that group of gamers that are going to play it for the first three days, then say, ">insert popular MP game here< was better, i'm going to play that instead," while the actual CORE fans of the series, who jumped on because of the excellent single player, are left with a watered down version of their favorite game that...
but now i think i'm going to just wait for the Collection, and replay all 3.
it's one of my favorite platform series for sure, next to Ratchet and Clank, and this remake is looking fantastic.
it's funny, i wasn't sure if the visuals would really be THAT good, due to the very simplistic, cartoony art style, but WOW. the cleaner image is crisp and sharp, and the textures can really be appreciated now that AA is removing the jaggies.

that looks absolutely AMAZING.
the PS3 just keeps on delivering.
personally, i have no desire for any new consoles just yet with the visual fidelity of these PS3 games is so high.
let the developers keep on creating games of this quality for a while longer. as a long time gamer, i'm a little tired of constantly having to pony up for new hardware.
i'd LOVE another 3 or more years of this current gen.

I think Sony totally took E3 this year.
They showcased their broad range of content, reinforced relationships with third parties (how quickly people forget the myriad of articles talking about 3rd parties were "abandoning ship" and moving on to Xbox 360), and had some genuine laughs (not the "i'm laughing because i feel sorry for them," at MS' presser), some great looking games, and even some surprise announcements (Heroes on the Move; no one expec...
but the sheer amount of love, blood, sweat, and tears that goes into each Gran Turismo outting makes me shake my head in awe.
the developers at Polyphony Digital are one of a kind. their attention to detail is unparalleled.
also, am i the only person that gets the impression that somewhere down the line, they are going to release a patch that allows some of the features of the premium cars on the standard cars?
i'm referring specifically ...
is compatible with Keyboard and Mouse.
if Valve makes Portal 2 on the PS3 keyboard and mouse compatible, i don't see the problem.
i seriously don't understand why more developers haven't enabled keyboard and mouse control on their PS3 games. it really doesn't make any sense why they don't. i highly doubt they'd have to devote an unreasonable amount of dev time to implement "Use Keyboard and Mouse" coding.

wants to address Christian issues in his next title, I'm all for it.
The problem with religion these days is that people have twisted the core ideals of the religion and used them as a power play.
I may be from a Christian background, but I believe 100% that the other religions are just as valid as my own. I don't think that Christianity, or Hinduism, or Islam, or Buddhism have hit it right on the head, but I believe that they are all facets of the sa...
that would get me to subscribe to PSN+ would be if that $50 included a full year of free online play for an MMO of my choice.
i REALLY enjoyed the DC Universe Online game i played yesterday at E3, but the main problem is that it's going to cost $15 a month to play.
me and my wife BOTH want to play the game, but that's going to be $30 a month for the two of us for a full year. $360 a year JUST so me and my wife can play an MMO together for a year.
PlayStation is both mainstream and niche.
Sony is big on taking chances with risky IPs.
Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Heavy Rain, Flow, Flower, The Last Guardian, Linger in Shadows, Little Big Planet, and quite a few more.
they cater to a broader market than just shooters and multi-player.
PlayStation nabbed such a huge market for the past 15 years because of that breadth of content. it's why most of us are PlayStation fan...
much better than the video i watched.
Sony is really on a roll with quality content.
they are really establishing a look and style to PlayStation 3 exclusive titles that we just don't see from other platform holders.
so far, PS3 exclusives have all had varying art design and styles, but that particular level of polish is all it's own. it's pretty awesome.
Nintendo had something like that during the 90's, in wh...
i wasn't too sure about how good the game was going to look against Killzone 2, but after seeing it in PERSON today (i didn't have time to wait in line and play it), i can say that HOLY SHIT was it beautiful.
it's a shame i won't be able to go back to E3 tomorrow, because after what i saw today, i wish i HAD just waited in line at the Sony booth to get my hands on it.
it's going to go through many more iterations graphically, just like Kil...
poorly crafted.
first, they author got characters mixed up (it's Ezzio in Assassin's Creed 2, not Altair).
then they don't actually put any pics of the characters they are discussing in the article (when discussing Kratos, there's no pic, and Nathan Drake has a picture of Elena walking up the stairs).
i'm a married, heterosexual guy, but come on, Marcus Fenix?? REALLY??
good god some people have low standa...
